I've built a 70cm/2m duoband Yagi-Uda and while it is not done yet, today I used it to listen to the FM crossband relay on the #ISS.
This is, by far, more complex than I ever imagined: Watching the phone for the position and frequency, keeping the antenna pointed at the ISS and trimming the frequency on the radio.
Not sure how I would manage to speak at the same time. (And logging the #QSO would be nice, too.) -
I was able to get a quick CW #MorseCode #QSO with @robbie_w1rcp from the shack before skies opened up on this #AmateurRadio #HamRadio #POTA #ParkOnTheAir #SupportYourParks Weekend and #WorldAmateurRadioDay 2026 .

I just finished my first QSO with VE3MJM Don on 2 m via VE3RCK repeater. Not a long distance between us, and especially as he was in the middle of some 30 m FT8 QSOs with operators in Japan, but pretty exciting for me anyway!

If the activator and the contact want to try and have a QSO under *the most* challenging conditions, it is no one's place to question that.
We have a beautiful hobby that is fundamentally about communicating with one another. Sometimes we lose sight of that.

This is completely up to the activator. It is their activation to do as they wish.

Day 2 of pushing the edges of that #hamradio #amateurradio CW #morsecode #QRPp envelope with 17 contacts with less than a watt in 16 minutes with 1st #pota #parksontheair #QSO with Idaho. AWESOME morning fun. Rocky Squirrel is back. No sightings or rumblings of "The Moose" but I thought I saw "Boris and Natasha" sneaking amongst the trees.
