Well, my readers did everything to make me regret and eventually take the death of the protagonist's love interest back. However, they are not God and one cannot just cherry-pick. It's the natural course of life. The character's death was more logical to me than his survival—so he had to die. Plain and simple.

@strangeseawolf I'm currently editing an older story of mine (#AsIf) with my editor. Somehow, we can't find its epilogue so it ends terribly (for the readers and my editor, I quite like that ending). Let's hope for him, we find that epilogue 😉

Jannis is the textbook example of an introvert, besides being an underdog. He's never invited to parties of "the cool kids" and wouldn't care if there wasn't at least some peer pressure, even he couldn't escape. But when he's finally invited, he feels quite awkward and out of place. Good thing, he has his extrovert best friend Ced with him.
