Similar to how I think, that theme is not enough to write a self-contained story, and you need plot for it, knowing the ending in some shape or form is needed to know the direction, which in return lets you gauge whether writing the story makes sense. However, that doesn't necessarily mean, the ending can't change.

For my German stories that I used to publish at Queerpoint.net, @Arokh did a fantastic job at not only proofreading, but also copy as well as line editing all my stuff 😍

For my English stories, I haven't found a proofreader or editor yet.

That is indeed a difficult question—a two-edged sword, if you will. Of course, book bans are coming into fashion again, targeting queer people and similar marginalized groups. This, of course, is political oppression under the guise of child safety (who would be against children?). That's a truly concerning development.

Mein Hauptproblem besteht darin, dass ich für einige Kapitel sicherlich äußerst einfallsreiche Überschriften finden kann – aber was ist mit dem Rest? Über gerade diese Kapitel nachzudenken, kann für mich sehr zeitintensiv werden – Zeit, die ich dann vielleicht doch lieber in deren Inhalt investiere.

Well, my readers did everything to make me regret and eventually take the death of the protagonist's love interest back. However, they are not God and one cannot just cherry-pick. It's the natural course of life. The character's death was more logical to me than his survival—so he had to die. Plain and simple.
