  1. Tried listening to a podcast of ’s “Finnegans Wake”. Quite musical language but so far it sounds like the ramblings of a madman.

  2. Found myself listening to Mount Teide by . Never been one of my favourites - weird rhythm signature, a bit diddly bomp, but quite pleasant for all that.

  3. Problems with internal combustion cars:
    - rage anxiety (fear of getting beaten up for the last drop of fuel in the pump)
    - what will you do when the fuel doesn’t flow (in the Strait of Hormuz)
    - they cause explosions (in Iran)
    - all that problematic cobalt they use (in the fuel refining process)
    - normal folk can’t afford the cost (to fill up)
    - they crack the roads (because you can’t have wars AND infrastructure apparently)
    - they are soulless and sluggish.

  4. @fesshole For me, it’s mentally reciting “Zen and the Art of Going to the Lavatory” from the graphics of BBC TV’s “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” episode 2. The dam usually breaks when I get to the line “Do not rain / Whilst train / Is standing at a station.”

  5. Woke up from a lovely dream where I was at a smart resort in Wales and I was the only resident who could fly around rather than walking on the ground. Soundtrack was “Weightless” by . Nice feeling.

  6. Live was great - I’d recommend it. They’ve got a great Irish vocalist too, called Emma O’Reilly who knocks it out of the park.

  7. I am in you. Tonight my plans include watching a performance of ’s at the Malvern Festival Theatre. Not by the man himself - he’s retired to a different island somewhere. But I’m sure it’ll be lovely…

  8. If you run a works canteen, remember that the choice “Irish stew or meat pie luv?” can lose you customers amongst the , and community.

  9. Oh dear god… only watch on Channel Four if you’ve got low enough blood pressure and can handle the sight of children being killed for shareholders’ profits.

  10. I just woke up from a dream like the one Sheridan Smith has in , full of people I used to know, except … instead of “Time to Say Goodbye” by Bocelli & Brightman as my theme, I got “The Chicken Song” by . Oddly appropriate, I thought.

  11. Full-fibre FTTP telegraph poles finally arriving in our village. Don’t know why they couldn’t just use the existing poles, and of course they’re ugly compared to underground ducting, but it’s high time the local Virgin Media monopoly was broken.
