Living in #GreatMalvern, I consider myself very lucky to have access to a theatre and cinema just a few minutes walk from home. The venue, now known as #Malvern Theatres but originally the Victorian Winter Gardens, is currently having £20m worth of mostly government funding spent on it (levelling up, ha ha). To quote, "The new building is scheduled for completion in autumn 2027 and once open, will be one of the largest multi-venue arts centres under a single roof in Europe."
I have just paid approximately £75 for two tickets to see "Our Man in Havana". That includes an almost £8 booking fee but with a £2 per ticket over 60's discount. I can't help thinking that the £20m would have been better spent on subsidising ticket prices, rather than making an already excellent theater complex even bigger. No wonder most people stay at home and watch Netflix. -

My first day of retirement, and I went for a walk in the afternoon. I'm very familiar with West Malvern, but it's rare I come here at this time of day, and it was quite delightful. These photos were taken just 15 minutes uphill walk from home. I'm lucky to live in such a beautiful place.

👩🔬 <- My aunt is a wonderful human being. She is qualified as a #science teacher and over the last year has undergone quite an upheaval in life, relocating to a totally new area in the process. She’s now looking to get back to work via personal tutoring from the new year onwards.
She’s not in it for the money, preferring to help those less advantaged. If you know anyone in secondary education in the UK who wants/needs extra tuition let me know and I’ll put you in touch.Ideally she’ll get some work local to her in the #Malvern area (#Worcestershire) that she can do in person, but she can also do a few slots per week remote tutoring via Jitsi or similar.
