ok, today was an effing long day. But the pods are loaded (to the brim!) with all my crap.
And I do mean "crap". I feel like I have way too much stuff. And I jettisoned a ton of things I was already feeling marginal about and had decided to bring and deal with on the other side, but when I discovered we were in danger of going to 3 boxes, not 2... hell no! (it'd be another $1K at least).
I do wish I had dealt with it better in advance and freecycled some of the stuff that I (sadly) had to end up junking. But my car was already loaded and the apartment was all packed and I needed to start my journey (tomorrow a.m.)
But fuuuuuuck this was a loooong (and crazy hot and humid) day.

last time I moved to California (~11 years ago) I had a couple of suitcases and maybe half a dozen boxes.
At the moment I have waaay too much stuff. I need to be ruthless about donating things before the move date arrives.

@MargaretSefton I watched that just a few weeks ago. It was excellent.
I started Night Moves (from the Gene Hackman collection) last night, will probably finish it tonight.
It's just... okay, so far but it's a fun time-travel into the 1970s (and tries to be noir, sorta). Also a VERY young (16) Melanie Griffith's first credited role.
And I think there's a twist coming which hopefully will improve it a bit.

It's SO frustrating that Apple manages app subscriptions in iTunes/Music. Seems nuts and I have never used it without it just hanging or not working for no apparent reason at all.
Why are app subscriptions not managed in iCloud? There must be some turf wars at Apple corporate and somebody doesn't want to give this up.

My brother was in town on business with a spare night so I met him and my nephew (his son) for a beer at Lamplighter and dinner at Mad Monkfish. Was fun to be out and pretending covid is over.

@constantorbit I find pale leaves tend to indicate soil/ potting medium lacking phosphate. Try a general purpose plant fertiliser. Preparing your own compost from food waste is recommended, if you can. Good luck.

Yay! Restarted my voice lessons (with the same teacher I had 10 years ago, and who my daughter also studied with back then).
I'd forgotten how much work it is. 😅 So many things to remember (until it becomes muscle memory).
But also so much fun! Yay! 🎶

Sometimes it's worth it to sit down and force yourself to do something that's not that fun...
...I'm getting a decent chunk of money back, I sent the feds too much last year, between regular withholding and estimated tax payments. Yay!
(it happens; I have regular income and SE income and alimony, so I find it tricky to get my withholding right and I tend to err on the side of w/h too much.)

Was going to update the spreadsheet where I had estimated my taxes for planning purposes, mid-last-year...
But just realized my employer has posted my W-2 and all the IRS tax forms and instructions are out, so... I guess... I'm doing my taxes tomorrow. Or at least drafting them.
