Good Morning, Folks! This morning, I talked about my recent media viewing habits. As my mind has been muddled by chemo brain, I find it hard to concentrate on more serious things, so I have been watching a lot of content. This morning I talked about #MortalKombat2, #Daredevil Born Again S2, and #Punisher One Last Kill.

Just back from seeing Two Prosecutors
Very well acted and paced. You know how it’s going to end before it starts, but that is largely thanks to history being linear and all that.
I’d recommend!

Just binged #Ironheart on Disney+. Why all the hate? It's typical Marvel, nothing new or unique but it was entertaining enough. Loads of reviewers idolising Tony Stark - forgetting he was a mysoginst who liked to joke about prima nocta etc. Just because he's a cute billionaire doesn't make it ok.
Anyway, Ironheart is an easy watch 5/10

I can see how it's divisive, and people do like to express an opinion about Lena Dunham - but I loved "Too Much" - messy and complicated in that way that "Girls" was, but so British, so "Paddington". As a Swiftie, I was all in for the Antonoff gossip and the references - those "paper cuts"...What does everyone else think?#TooMuch #Girls #Paddington #London #LenaDunham #TV #TVShows #AmWatching

@MargaretSefton I watched that just a few weeks ago. It was excellent.
I started Night Moves (from the Gene Hackman collection) last night, will probably finish it tonight.
It's just... okay, so far but it's a fun time-travel into the 1970s (and tries to be noir, sorta). Also a VERY young (16) Melanie Griffith's first credited role.
And I think there's a twist coming which hopefully will improve it a bit.

CW: Adolescence spoilers
While I like the topics #Manosphere and #Incels to be highlighted, what Adam tells his father in the second episode, gets mostly repeated and not much questioned, let alone does there seem to be anyone wanting to change that.
When the parents talk in episode four, they essentially say "when he got a computer, everything went wrong" and Eddie confesses that his only parenting technique was hardening Jamie with sports.

… and less on right and wrong. Because, we have evidence and a motive on the one hand and Jamie being convinced for months(!) that he's innocent.

CW: Adolescence spoilers
However, there was one thing, I felt was imperfect:
The last episode from the family's perspective makes sense as *an* episode an the line of episodes showing different perspectives, but is a little weak as the ending. I would have expected there to be a fifth episode with a court hearing, particularly to hear Jamie's reasons to plead guilty, but I think, this also was a deliberate choice because they wanted to focus on emotions

Owen Cooper did a fantastic acting job along the other actors who had to go through several emotions in these long scenes. And even though, it was just acting, the topic must have been tough for an actor that age.
But I think, it was a deliberate choice to let Jamie's character only appear in two of the four episodes on screen.
Also the situation of the parents is spine-chillingly portrayed.

It's notable that each episode mostly happens in one location and that location is either an actual real location or a cohesive set where you can go from one room to another. This allows for extremely long shots, almost one shots. Most scenes feel like only consisting of a master shot.
This makes this all feel more real and gives a sense of being there in the scene with the characters.

CW: Adolescence spoilers
#Adolescence has been quite a stunning series—in writing, in acting, in the way it was shot, and in terms of what subjects it tackled
There justifiably are claims of there being a #MaleLonelinessEpidemic and people advocating to make #Femicides its own criminal offense. Also, more people need to be aware of how dangerous #ToxicMasculinity and the #Manosphere is, especially since people underestimate that huge parts of it solely happen online

CW: Spoilers for Carnivale S1E3 Tipton
Why was Samson so angry at Ben for almost healing the old woman?
• Does Samson know Ben can heal, ergo he was angry about Ben recklessly using his power?
• Does Samson not know Ben can heal, ergo he was angry that Ben would perform a healing that would fail, exposing the fraud?
• Something else? -

Starting to watch #Carnivale again. I like it but one of the things the show does (to add to the mystery, I assume) is it never allows any character to speak plainly and honestly to another. I swear: only guest stars and extras are allowed to communicate without ulterior motives.
We’ll see if I get further than the last time I quit watching, late season 1.

If you like a touch of sci-fi, a splash of dystopia, a pinch of despair, and a teaspoon of horror, all served in six 4-minute dishes, I can wholeheartedly recommend these chapters of a series titled "A Thousand Suns" by Blackmilk Studios on YouTube. They may be short, but they will leave you wanting more. Much more.
They are thought producing, deep, beautiful, scary, immersive, and wonderful.

What should have been a cheesy but enjoyable romp through dodgy conspiracy theorist nonsense ends up being a far-too-serious and dreadfully dull affair seemingly filmed entirely at night. It's also way too long and obviously complete bollocks. 🤨

I don't like true crime, and I don't really listen to podcasts, so you think I'd hate a show about the misadventures of true crime podcasters. I enjoyed Bodkin. Its got a small town, eerie Éire feel that doesn't take itself seriously while tackling a plot bigger than the main characters. On today's #thursday #blog, I dive into what I really enjoyed from the #netflix show.

#AmWatching #AmWriting #FilmReview #BlogPost #Cinemastodon #OpenSeason
This mid-Noughties CG animation looks dated, is poorly voiced and far too similar to a host of other films at the time. So why did Sony decide to try and make a franchise from it? 🤷♂️

Got a BritBox subscription and have enjoyed rewatching the first few Death in Paradise episodes. Also The IT Crowd—so funny. I’ve found some short horror stories as well. And I’m just now starting Downton Abbey. I’ve never seen it; so far I’ve found it a bit painful to watch, but it has definitely drawn me in. #AmWatching #BritishTV #BritBox #ClassicBritishComedy #MurderMysteries #Drama #Horror

omfg. Remember how I posted a week or so ago that Plex on my Linux hackintosh was behaving weirdly and not playing videos I had ripped from DVDs?
Accidentally just discovered those videos play JUST FINE on my macOS Mac connecting to that Plex server as a client!
Woohoo!

Really liking Echo so far, especially with how it gives early Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage vibes. Really solid soundtrack there too.

The Brawn GP documentary on Hulu / Disney+ is a phenomenal watch. I am so incredibly impressed with Keanu Reeves as the host and EP — his love of the sport makes a killer story and great interviews even more compelling to watch.
It never ceases to amaze me to watch the behind the scenes on F1 and see that everything they do has more zeroes involved, and it’s also no different than our life in pro motorcycle racing in so many ways.
