Sofa and fridge/freezer in today. Little creature comforts from Vinted arrived. Still need a table to eat from, and a bedside table, and I want to get a day-bed for the spare room instead of the put-you-up I have in there now but finances will take time to recover for that!

Tonight, an easy oven-curry, naan, and a glass of fizz out of my very posh wine glasses that I've never used in the 4 years I've had them because they're all that's unpacked so far!

ok, today was an effing long day. But the pods are loaded (to the brim!) with all my crap.

And I do mean "crap". I feel like I have way too much stuff. And I jettisoned a ton of things I was already feeling marginal about and had decided to bring and deal with on the other side, but when I discovered we were in danger of going to 3 boxes, not 2... hell no! (it'd be another $1K at least).

I do wish I had dealt with it better in advance and freecycled some of the stuff that I (sadly) had to end up junking. But my car was already loaded and the apartment was all packed and I needed to start my journey (tomorrow a.m.)

But fuuuuuuck this was a loooong (and crazy hot and humid) day.

The estate agent closes in 27 minutes and we've still not heard about the house we applied for.

So, about two weeks left before we're moving. Most stuff is already in boxes, although there's still some work to be done there. Christmas decorations are extremely limited this year, and I spent part of Christmas day hanging lamps.
Good thing we could spend last weekend with my in-laws, away from the boxes for a few days.

Mind you, I'm not complaining, the new house is great, and I look forward to getting to grips with the new surroundings and city, although slightly less to the longer commute.
