We snatched VICTORY from the jaws of DEFEAT! I'm not talking about the England footy team playing DR Congo, but about last night's #LifeDrawing... for the 1st time ever the model didn't turn up. Argh! So we drew each other (clothed, obvs).
We each posed for 10 minutes & and now I have a new respect for all life models! I'm not used to #drawing people with their kit on so it took me 3 attempts to draw anything I was vaguely pleased with.

David Hockney said: "A lot of people don't look very hard." However, last night a lot of people - 19! - turned up for our life drawing session in #Eynsham, #Oxfordshire That's a lot of people looking very hard - and the most we have ever had at one session! 😮
The next session, and last one before the summer break, is Wednesday 1 July at 7pm (arrive at 6.45pm to settle in).

I spotted this fabulous #postbox #topper outside the PO in #Eynsham, #Oxfordshire celebrating the #WorldCup. The details are superb! I especially love the hairstyles of the multi-ethnic footballers, and the little bells on the bunting. Some very talented person had immense fun making this!👏

I wasn’t feeling particularly inspired or well for last night’s #lifedrawing session, but I went anyway and joined 12 other #artists, pencils poised, ready to tackle the unclothed human form.
It’s not just the model who is exposed when life drawing. It literally exposes the naked truth about an artist’s abilities. There’s nowhere to hide!
The excruciating doubt I sometimes feel as an artist is lifted when I’m life drawing - I prove to myself that I can do it. And at times not too badly. Plus, it’s immense fun!
I hope you enjoy watching the artists in action. It always feels like a kind of miracle...

Our #LifeDrawing sessions are popular! We had SIX new artists turn up to have a go last night. One of them said "it's tricky, isn't it?" Yes! And that's the challenge - to get a single line 'right' and drawn with expression is what we all strive for and only rarely achieve.

WOW! Two seriously impressive fighter #aircraft buzzing around and around over our village, #Eynsham, #Oxfordshire, at lunchtime today! Crikey, they were LOUD!
My husb Moth took these photos of them with his big camera. We think one was a #Eurofighter #Typhoon, and the other was an #f35lightning. Correct me if I'm wrong.

We're very pleased with the siskins & esp #REDPOLLS. They're not rare here but they're not common either so it's a joy to see 2 pairs visiting the feeders every day!

Yesterday's #wassailing.
Led by the #Eynsham #Morris, villagers processed through the orchard banging pots and pans to scare evil spirits, and singing to wake the apple trees and encourage them to produce a good harvest.Spicy cider was readily available to everyone present, warmed on a roaring fire. And toast was hung in the trees - a gift for the good spirits. The birds will be pleased. 😀
