Problem reproducing a bug:
Does anyone have a #MacOS machine with #gnuradio installed through standard ways?
Does your audio source work on the first try, i.e., does it just work or at least ask for permission to use the microphone?

Does anyone here have experience using #SoftwareDefinedRadio for teaching Wireless Communication? I'm looking at the #NI #Ettus #USRP X Series right now. I like that it's programmable via #GNURadio. Would like to know whether it's a good investment, as it's kinda pricey, but looks like it's exactly what I need.

I was able to reconnect with #hams from #maryland and people I met at #hamsci, #cedar, #hamvention and #gnuradio conferences. Some folx I haven't seen since the #pandemic! It was good to be out and about. Everyone was cool but no one who was still working wanted their photos shared on #socialmedia because they were concerned about security issues and fear of a #facist planet. This is what it has come down to. SMH 4/4

HackRF + GNU Radio = WBFM Transmitter

Pretty happy that Dan Boschen of DSP.SE and DSPrelated fame is doing workshops at @gnuradio Conference 2024 (#GRCon'24) in September (16.–20.):

If you've ever gotten an answer on https://dsp.stackexchange.com, you'll know that the figures will be excellent and the explanations to match that. We'll be learning things on digital filter design and control loop development. Workshop space is limited, but no extra cost to the registration for GRCon in-person participation.

I was able to finally score a #HackRFOne #SoftwareDefinedRadio. Not easy to come by in these days of the #chipShortage. Working great so far with my #MacBook, with the software installed from #MacPorts. Now on to some adventures with #DigitalSignalProcessing and #gnuRadio

So I got this other flow graph put together that is built for a slightly different (simpler) SDR, which I chopped out of the flowgraph and dropped in the osmocom for the hackrf in it’s place.
I’ve got all my filter taps in place, per the diagram.
Problem is, those taps refer to each other by name, and some of those are abbreviated by grc using the elipsis…so I’m having to work out which ones are what. I’ve also found a decimal point off by one in one of the variables and corrected that.
I still have some red lines here and there, but I’ve got a complete system on the grid now that I’m debugging instead of a parts of things I’ve seen that don’t work with bits missing and whatnot.
I still suspect that some of my blocks need upgrading or patching or something, but for now I’m moving forward and see how it goes.

A few pics with the signals right at the output of my ADALM-Pluto in the 2390 MHz band, before amplification. In order or appearance: 4FSK, DQPSK, GMSK. I don't normally use the GMSK modem due to it's slightly lower performance, it's just there to spite my D-Star-using friends. Audio payloads are Codec2 and Opus.
The amplification chain has two stages: first to ~16 dBm, second one to ~36 dBm.

Hey, reminder: The annual GNU Radio (@gnuradio) conference in Everett, WA, beginning of September, has reduced regular pricing for just one more week!
If you're planning on watching the free live streams, do consider a "pay as much as you want" ticket (but no obligation to!), because expenses for cameras, streaming, live mixing, subtitling/editing are very visible in the conference budget.

Hey, if you're interested in doing signal processing on embedded devices using OpenEmbedded, and maybe shy away from corporate pricing for OE workshops:
@gnuradio #GRCon25 features a workshop "GNU Radio on Embedded SDRs" by Philip Balister @Crofton (of OE fame) and Toby Flynn (of RedWire Technologies).
There's week/1day tickets available & if you're into SDR, #GPU-accelerated DSP, satellite comms, radio astronomy, physics with SDR, DSP architecture, radio metrology, …, it's a really nice conf. -
