Had a great time at Dayton!! #Hamvention

I’ve been experimenting with DX Engineering’s affiliate program and they gave their affiliates a really nice swag bag full of good stuff at #hamvention!

I counted up to 383 Meshtastic nodes at one point. Chat was definitely getting rowdy at times. Mostly the nodes without a call sign attached to them, of course. Screenshot of the APRS map attached for comparison. #hamvention #meshtastic

Back from Hamvention yesterday and traveling for work today. I spent time on the plane putting some #Hamvention show and tell posts together. Here we go!

This weekend the HF bands were horrid. I did manage to get about 30 or so contacts, but definitely had to work for them! Green is 40m, blue is 20m, and the one purple is 17m. At least it was a good test for my new microphone, a Yaesu M-90D that I picked up at Dayton Hamvention this weekend. Certain circumstances required me to leave early, so I missed the fedihams meetup. =(

Once again I was fortunate to be invited to the #hamvention Awards Banquet. They often honor unsung heroes that have given a lot to the hobby but maybe the majority of hams like myself don't know about. Tonight was certainly the case. I made it back to my friend's place for the evening.

I ducked out a little early from Hamvention

I got really exhausted from being on my feet all day, BUT I did get that antenna I was looking for ordered!

I'll be posting a blog post with more pictures within the next week or so 🙂 I took a lot more pictures today!
