Today’s observation is about haircuts. For the last few years where I live, the “standard” haircut for a young man is a fade on the sides and back, but long on the top and raised up with product — what I like to refer to as the “whipped dessert” haircut.
What I’ve seen a lot of in Ireland this week is similar — a fade on the sides and back, but the hair is left flat on the top. Like having bangs all the way around. I think I’ll call this the “hockey helmet”.

On the other hand, I could be missing out on something wonderful, which is why I am always keen to read thoughtful fan accounts of Kpop concerts.
My main reason, however, for posting this video, which was recorded earlier this year, is to show the shorter hair that SinB had then.
I know that long tresses make up part of the visual culture of traditional youthful femininity, but I love to see idols with bobs and shorter hairstyles in general -- they can look so chic!

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same about the music she has released since she left LOONA.
I don't dislike her releases, but on the whole they have not grabbed me. I'm disappointed because I had high expectations.
What aggravates the disappointment is Yves coming across as intelligent, thoughtful, and sensitive. This old Orbit feels bad because he cannot express sincere enthusiasm for the work Yves has chosen to make public as a solo artist and which almost certainly means so much to her.
