Stefan Voigt asked forum participants to raise hands of who uses Windows/macOS vs a FOSS OS and then iPhone vs Google Android vs non-Google Android/Sailfish/et al.
Enormous portions of macOS, iOS, and Android are FOSS. Let’s not discount that.
Let’s also not shame people for not using more ideologically pure products when Linux still doesn’t “just work” and there is no Apple-quality hardware with Apple Silicon performance alternative. Hopefully one day you can shame me.

There are tools to transpose (raise/lower pitch, if you're not a music geek :) recordings you'd like to sing along with.
Notably, on Android, you can shift the pitch of YouTube videos (and/or change the speed, independently) with the free, open-source, lightweight, privacy-friendly, ad-free, third-party client NewPipe.
(Tap the "1x" for the speed and pitch controls.)
Among other things, it lets you listen to a video in the background, and lets you download video or just audio.
I recommend scrolling down in the installation instructions, and getting it through F-Droid, using NewPipe's own repository.
(No connection to them here other than as a satisfied user.)

Due to an unforeseen issue in the source code release, Gugal 0.8.2 has been deleted and will be re-uploaded later.
The direct (GitLab) version of Gugal is unaffected. If you use it, you can install 0.8.2 from this link: https://gitlab.com/gugal/releases/-/raw/main/Gugal-0.8.2-full-release.apk?ref_type=heads
The F-Droid version won't be updated until Gugal 0.8.2 is re-uploaded.

After a long hiatus, Gugal 0.8.2 is finally out, with a fix for an issue where searx instances without HTTPS support wouldn't work.
It also brings a number of minor improvements. Finally, Gugal is now available in Italian and Spanish.
The F-Droid version is expected to be updated soon, and the direct version is now available: https://gitlab.com/narektor/gugal/-/releases/0.8.2-n

Wolke's new phone (Fairphone Gen 6) arrived today! After trying E/OS/ Wolke decided it like customisation and instead now installed iodé, which Wolke is very happy with.
(BTW E/OS/s servers are real slow for downloads, like 200kbit/s slow. iodé hat 35MB/s - yes bytes! That is what Wolke's ISP allows it)

I have no need for it personally, that I can think of now, but it's nice to know it exists.
