Many cultures, including some #IndigenousAustralian groups, pass identity, land rights, and responsibilities through the mother's line — a #matrilineal system,' study co-author Dr. Eline Schotsmans, a research fellow at Australia's University of Wollongong's School of Science, said in a statement.
"These findings come several months after researchers studying social networks in #CelticSociety in Britain before the #RomanInvasion gathered genetic evidence from a late Iron Age cemetery and found that women were closely related, while unrelated men tended to come into the community from elsewhere, likely after marriage.
"Using an examination of ancient DNA recovered from 57 graves in #Dorset in southwest England, their study, published in the journal Nature, shows that two-thirds of the individuals were descended from a single maternal lineage. This suggests that women had some control of land and property, as well as strong social support, researchers said.
"Researchers said upon the release of their findings, 'It is possible that maternal ancestry was the primary shaper of group identities.' "

Ok, ich bin jetzt seit etlichen Stunden damit beschäftigt #Matrix #Synapse dazu zu bringen #ElementCall zu verwenden... oida, ist das Setup ein scheiß.
Zuvor wurde einfach ein Turn Server mit WebRTC verwendet für Anrufe. Turn Server sind ein Ding für sich, aber irgendwie bekommt man es ja dann doch hin. Doch #ElementX besteht darauf Element Call zu verwenden. Das sind dann zwei weitere Docker Container die laufen müssen, die Nginx Konfiguration muss man umwerfen und anpassen und und und.
Die Entwickler von Synapse sollten langsam lernen ein vernünftiges Setup für Matrix zu ermöglichen. Ich verstehe durchaus, warum sich einige Admins den Mist nicht antun wollen. Man findet zwar alle Infos die man braucht in der Dokumentation, doch bis man die Infos wie Klemmbausteine zusammengesetzt hat, kostet dich das einige Nerven. Man hat 20 Tabs offen für so ziemlich alles was man beachten muss.
Ich habe es bis jetzt zumindestens hinbekommen, dass ElementX weiß, dass man irgendwie anrufen kann. Ob die Anrufe funktionieren, wird sich morgen rausstellen, wenn jemand die auch entgegen nehmen kann.

Nice. Built my first working instance of Element Call. Everything running on our own servers and under our control, and true end-to-end encryption. Eat that, Zoom!
It's only a test setup for now, but I foresee that Element Call will quickly become the main tool for videoconferencing, not only here but in many ICT environments.

Does anyone know if there's a way to search for #Matrix servers, or search for rooms across multiple servers?
Or... does anyone know if a #naturist or #nudist Matrix server, space or room exists? There's #ElementCall coming out soon which would allow for video chat rooms, ala Zoom or Discord.

Can someone tell me why so many people and websites claim that the #Matrox MGA #Millennium does not support texture mapping? That's complete bullsh*t. It does, even the official promo video (here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w76yFJ2zJyw) tells that it supports texture mapping in hardware. And how do these people even think the 3d-accelerated version of NASCAR Racing works on the card? The game is fully texture-mapped...
Anyway, unlike the earlier Impression (Plus), the Millennium does support texture mapping.

注意！
自建的Matrix不提供聊天前端，代表不能和Mastodon一样，在上面注册登录发帖等，Matrix的注册、登录、聊天都需要依靠第三方客户端！登录可以有多种方法，一定要记住把matrix.org换成chat.feddit.social（或者其他）

当你在另外一个客户端（App、Web）登录，会提示你需要验证客户端，这时候，你需要同时在两个客户端完成验证。
一般来说，在新客户端登录，为了安全是不会有个人聊天记录（群组另算，看具体设置）
如果登录后想要显示之前的聊天记录，需要在Setting打开Chat Backup，然后保存Es开头的恢复密钥！所以：
- 一定要好好保管恢复密钥
- 一定要记住恢复密钥保存的位置
下一次在新的客户端登录，就可以选择填写此恢复密钥恢复聊天记录
群组配置
我重新更新了配置，使你可以公开你创建的房间"Publish to Directory"，便于感兴趣的人加入
目前：
Fluffy Chat(App、Web)不支持，只能搜索
Cinny（App、Web，Cinny App 只有PC版）支持此功能，即explore群组
Matrix的设计逻辑：主要分为用户，群组，空间、子空间
用户之间的聊天独立
空间包括群组和子空间、子空间内不仅可以创建群组，而且还能创建"子子空间"...子子孙孙无穷匮也
提醒：
- 如果不是特别敏感的聊天，不建议开启"Room Encryption"，没有好好的配置前提下，会让你的多端聊天变得破败，而且此操作不能被取消！

CW: Thoughts on Matrix, XMPP, and reliability
As it turns out, I still can’t exactly recommend XMPP as a communication platform. I know a lot of people here on the Fediverse like and even prefer it to other platforms like Matrix, but it just doesn’t work reliably for me. Not years ago and not now. :gutkato_disokula:
I just opened the XMPP client on my other device, navigated to a public room (group chat) I’m a part of, and the last three days’ worth of messages didn’t show up. Why? I don’t know. :gutkato_averto:
This room’s information says it should be ‘Persistent’ and ‘Archiving’. Maybe the messages are archived, but not shared to all of the room members’ devices. Maybe the room needs an extra setting to do that. Or maybe it already does that, but only if the client and the server both support XMPP Extension number 4,872 (Self-Propagating Persistent Messages, version 2). :gutkato_ŝultrumas:
It could just be this one room. It could be that the there are better clients that would inform me about this missing feature, but this one doesn’t. But as it stands, I apparently can’t just use XMPP and trust I’ll get to see the messages people sent me. With Matrix, I can. Sure, there might be a problem with encryption, but at least I’ll know someone tried to say something. :gutkato_ĝengrimacas:
