This release includes a security update for sanitize-html, a fix for Firefox scrollbar colors, updated device management endpoints, and desktop fixes for VPN loading and the macOS title bar.

I dedicated my weekend setting up an unfederated matrix chat server in my local #homelab using #tuwunel + #livekit + #Cinny . Happily everything went mostly well, but I stumbled with the "I can't share audio when streaming my desktop on Linux" problem.

I read on https://docs.livekit.io/transport/media/screenshare/ that this is possible if you share a tab in chrome/mium, but I'm curious if this not working for windows/desktop is a browser problem, a wayland problem, a pipewire problem, a DE problem or a mix of 'em :O?

Club some rooms then, u have space, and u can have another space inside a space. It's just that good. This way any rooms in a space can be decoupled or just replicated to another space. This is really a cool potential IMO.

This is really useful for organisations for teams and chat management.

Suggest me any such clients for matrix, xmpp, nostr etc

Discord honestly is a good UI/UX for multi level chat organisations. I thought why we couldn't have something like that for matrix.

Then I discovered cinny, which is really cool. And now after using it for a while honestly it just clicked me that matrix way of organising really have true potential coz the method is better than discord.

In matrix everything is a room, so with that as building block we can have any type.

Joder, cada vez le tengo más manía al puto Element (v. de escritorio para Linux). Desde que he cambiado de cuenta en Matrix me lo pone realmente difícil para conectarme, a lo cual me obliga todos los putos días. Y no me conserva ninguna de las preferencias entre sesión y sesión. Cada vez más tocapelotas el dichoso cliente. Estaba por pasarme a Cinny pero no permite mensajes de audio 😖 ¿Habrá que probar la beta de Nheko?

#cinny when calls?

With latest NVIDIA drivers, CachyOS and GNOME (Wayland) I'm facing issues while trying to run some tauri-based apps, like Cinny, in my case from Flatpak but also from AUR/Github.

I fixed it by overriding this environment variables.

WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE
WEBKIT_DISABLE_GPU_SANDBOX

In case you're facing same issue...

flatpak override --user --env=WEBKIT_DISABLE_COMPOSITING_MODE=1 --env=WEBKIT_DISABLE_GPU_SANDBOX=1 in.cinny.Cinny

Bon, pour continuer la discussion sur les clients Matrix :
Cinny est le meilleur presque son début, et il est toujours de mieux en mieux à chaque ré-essai.
Deux points qui me chagrinent :
* je veux mes bulles de messages réparties à gauche et droite pour différencier mes messages de ceux des autres,
* Les messages des threads ne sont pas séparés de la conversation. C’est abscons.

Gave #matrix a try. Installed #synapse, #elementweb, #cinny on my RPi, and #fluffychat on mobile. SNI proxy on a VPS routes traffic to the home server to keep secret keys secret (yep, HTTPS everywhere makes no sense if everyone keeps their secrets in cloud)

What a bloatware! It's lame and messy. I'm afraid to show it to normies who I want to communicate with me.

#Element is passable but organizing stuff into spaces is still pretty clunky and the home page is pretty meh...

Commet and #Cinny seemed promising but the dev teams are so small they just don't have the man power to add all the features needed (still like Cinny as a desktop choice personally tho, but need something to show to others)

Matrix普遍用于去中心化，端到端加密聊天，可以通过自建维护Matrix实例，

Matrix的权限管理十分详细，

在Matrix上，你可以

• 和本服务器的用户 聊天
• 和在本服务器的聊天室的用户 聊天
• 和其他Matrix系服务器的用户 聊天
• 和在其他服务器的聊天室的用户 聊天

注册

注册需要一个非零时邮件(为了找回密码)，然后通过邮件激活账户

考虑方便程度，在此使用Cinny Web端

Fluffychat Web端没有注册功能，Element Web端访问不稳定

登录

注意！
自建的Matrix不提供聊天前端，代表不能和Mastodon一样，在上面注册登录发帖等，Matrix的注册、登录、聊天都需要依靠第三方客户端！

登录可以有多种方法，一定要记住把matrix.org换成chat.feddit.social（或者其他）

• 在PC上，推荐使用浏览器访问：https://app.cinny.in/login/chat.feddit.social

• 在Mobile上，推荐使用FluffyChat APP和网页版，Cinny网页版

  个人来说不推荐任何Matrix"官方"的App或者Web客户端，比如Element、ElementX

  更多客户端可以在此寻找： https://matrix.org/ecosystem/clients （需要翻墙）

当你在另外一个客户端（App、Web）登录，会提示你需要验证客户端，这时候，你需要同时在两个客户端完成验证。

一般来说，在新客户端登录，为了安全是不会有个人聊天记录（群组另算，看具体设置）

如果登录后想要显示之前的聊天记录，需要在Setting打开Chat Backup，然后保存Es开头的恢复密钥！所以：

• 一定要好好保管恢复密钥
• 一定要记住恢复密钥保存的位置

下一次在新的客户端登录，就可以选择填写此恢复密钥恢复聊天记录

群组配置

我重新更新了配置，使你可以公开你创建的房间"Publish to Directory"，便于感兴趣的人加入

目前：

• Fluffy Chat(App、Web)不支持，只能搜索

• Cinny（App、Web，Cinny App 只有PC版）支持此功能，即explore群组

Matrix的设计逻辑：主要分为用户，群组，空间、子空间

1. 用户之间的聊天独立

2. 空间包括群组和子空间、子空间内不仅可以创建群组，而且还能创建"子子空间"...子子孙孙无穷匮也

提醒：

• 如果不是特别敏感的聊天，不建议开启"Room Encryption"，没有好好的配置前提下，会让你的多端聊天变得破败，而且此操作不能被取消！
