I just read @Clothesfreelife's essay https://naturism.wiki/erasing-the-history-of-indigenous-cultural-naturism/and would like to get some BIPOC perspective on my plan for Inktober this year.

You may have seen my poll at the beginning of September, the result of which is that people would like me to explore my characters, Nelson and Marcia, who have made occasional appearances in #ChooseNude cartoons. They are of African descent, but living in Canada for many generations, and I am sensitive to the fact that I really don't know what that is like.

My plan is to give them similar interests and activities to Liz and Bryan -- they are friends after all. They are a trifle younger, and fitter because I introduced Marcia as a foil to Liz when she was trying on bathing suits. They became naturists after meeting Liz and Bryan on the nude beach at a resort, and I was hopeful that I was diversifying my hitherto white cartoon.

If you identify as a BIPOC naturist, I would welcome your input. Is it even okay for me (white guy) to spend a month focused on these characters? Does my plan to make them normal hockey-loving maple-syrupy Canadians smooth over some uncomfortable truths that I am not aware of? Are there other traps lying in wait? Are there subjects I should steer clear of?
