From Laundry to Linux: Two Productive Days in Lusaka

Yesterday (April 30) and today (May 1), I spent some time doing laundry while also setting up my Raspberry Pi with Umbrel OS. I installed the software I need and started backing up my data today, deciding to go with Seafile for it.

I worked on all of this at the hostel, then took a walk to the university and continued in the library. Later, I went to a burger place and enjoyed a Friday deal.

Để tránh crash, nên giữ ít nhất **~2 GB RAM khả dụng** và bật swap (~4 GB) để hỗ trợ tạm thời. Nếu có thể, nâng RAM lên 12‑16 GB sẽ ổn hơn.

Развёртывание своего облачного хранилища на VPS: Nextсloud и альтернативы

Удобство облачных сервисов лишает нас контроля над цифровой жизнью. Все файлы лежат у одного Большого брата (корпорация) под наблюдением другого Большого брата (государство). Если провайдер лишит аккаунта — человек потеряет всё. Что ж, ради ежедневного комфорта многие готовы мириться с таким риском. Однако комфорт вызывает привыкание. Поэтому даже при выходе из-под колпака Большого брата на собственный безопасный сервер хочется такого же уровня удобства, как у облачных сервисов. Как минимум: • доступ к файлам с любого устройства; • автоматическая синхронизация файлов и резервное копирование; • расшаривание файлов; • совместная работа с документами. Сегодня такое «локальное облако» можно поднять на собственном сервере или VPS в качестве альтернативы корпоративным экосистемам типа Apple, Google и «Яндекс».
