We need more colloquialisms and common-use words in scientific writing; it is becoming too stiff and stifled (and also less legible and accessible).

Anzeichen, an denen man erkennt, dass eine studentische Arbeit mutmaßlich mit KI-Unterstützung geschrieben wurde oder Medienkompetenz komplett fehlt, Teil 73:

✍️ Two CULCORC members, Elisabeth Ulrika Wennerström and Štěpán Šanda, recently took part in the Academic Writers Retreat at Jönköping University in Gränna, Sweden.
Štěpán highlighted how the retreat helped him improve the structure and style of a journal article, while Elisabeth described the experience as both inspiring and productive, allowing her to advance an empirical chapter of her PhD dissertation.
Congratulations to both!

I'm thinking of something akin to music collectives, eg. The Mouse Outfit, whereby musicians collaborate & release music collectively, not as fixed groups but as like-minded souls.

I'm doing a project where I'm tracing the evolution of a particular term ("content creator", if you're curious) and I'm collecting paragraphs in which that term appeared for context.
In doing so, I've learned much, including the fact that many academics don't know what a paragraph is.
