@LukefromDC Both #MTA (Maine Turnpike Authority) and #MDOT (Maine Dept of Transportation) have a lot of palms to grease with regards to giving contractors work to build new highways through farms and woods, or develop undeveloped places. The former director of the MTA got in trouble for accepting bribes from contractors. I'm sure the culture hasn't changed though.

It was only when we got home after a very uncomfortable journey that my parents angrily discovered the rapidly liquefying source.
