  1. Picked up a couple of new #ESP32 #M5Stack #Microcontroller this past week. A M5Stack Tab 5 ESP32-P4 based, not real sure what to do with. I had to buy the battery separate. But that was ok, I got it for a good price and it was worth spending a little more for the battery. And a M5Stack Mesh KIT, which really is a Cardputer ADV and a LORA Board that plugs into it. Still Got it for a great price, so I can't complain. Even if I'll not use #Meshtastic I'll get lots of use out of this.

  3. For less than $100 in parts(and some FOSS projects) I can get two different smart speaker configurations to test and an HDMI (720p only) Chromecast option.
    If these work out, I'll start down my

  5. Building a custom digital doorbell system ... an #ESP32 taps into a legacy #Elvox/Voxie chime circuit, bridges it over Wi‑Fi via a #MikroTik cAP ac, and pushes alerts to three portable #M5Stack Core2 units over ESP-NOW. Ring -> devices ping -> trusted users tap to unlock.

    I usually live in Python and ansible land, but hacking real hardware is a genuine nerd pleasure whenever it gets time. Firmware & enclosure WIP! 📡

  7. This Game Boy emulator for the M5PaperS3 runs at 60 FPS on an E Ink screen

    Over the past few years we’ve seen a bunch of companies deliver E Ink tablets and monitors that use software tricks to deliver high screen refresh rates. But there’s usually a price to pay: the closer you get to 60 fps, the more ghosting and stuttering you’re likely to see.

    But developer Wenting Zhang came up with a DIY project that seems perfect for a small E Ink display. He ported an open […]

  8. CardputerZero pocket computer combines the brains of a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W with a tiny display, keyboard, and battery

    The M5Stack CardputerZero is a tiny, portable computer that’s about the size of a small stack of business cards. But despite its compact size, it’s a full-fledged PC with a display, keyboard, and support for Linux-based software.

    M5Stack has been selling similar devices under the Cardputer brand for a few years, but up until now they’ve featured ESP32 microprocessors and far too little memory […]

Meshtastic
    * выбрать желаемый релиз (скорее всего последнюю альфу) на github.com/meshtastic/firmware
    * скачать оттуда архив с названием вида firmware-esp32s3-*.zip (по модели чипсета)
    * достать там бинарник вида firmware-m5stack-cardputer-adv-*.bin (без factory)
    * [переименовать и] положить на microSD-карточку устройства
    * прошить через M5Launcher
    * …
    * PROFIT

  11. The #M5Stack #Cardputer Zero seems like a great small emergency #Linux device. And at the Super Early Bird price of £66 it's a no-brainer. Will be interesting how the #ComputeModuleZero performs.

  13. The #m5stack AtomGPS is such a tiny and only moderately capable #wardrive device. Why bother?

    Because if you #alwaysBeWardriving by leaving one in each car, you will find #allTheWifi !

    Kudos to @lukeswitzer and @lozaning for the code

  15. New #meshtastic node of the #m5stack #cardputeradv variety. The bundled #Meshkit works right out of the box. I have a couple of #cardputer devices so I knew the real battle would be not futzing with the firmware on this one...so I got another non #lora ver to muck around on. If your in the #southdakota area , do a sweep and find waldo. (Face included for scale)
