Day 7: “Do Something!“

I had imagined something vastly different musically, but things didn’t go as planned. Retrospectively, I guess the album had to have at least one #ukulele song (gotta please the fans 😂)

🎵❤️: The two contrapuntal vocal lines in the choral break, one in each ear, that you can hear more clearly in the final encore, were entirely improvised and are both first takes. Guess I was in the zone.

Day 1: “Downfall“

The #bonkwave song that I wrote back in October, that started it all, and that I only decided to include at the last moment.

The guiding idea for this one musically was to try to compose something with a lot of…silence.

What I like (🎵❤️): how simply moving from Dm to Dm7 in the middle section (“pretending is phony”) changes everything, and also the vocal harmonies in that section.
