  1. My first ever attempt at a leather belt bag, using scaps from a local leather shop.

I wish I had a more fitting buckle, but I had to use what I already own(low income). Hopefully I can get different buckles soon!

  2. One of the best unintentional benefits of wood carving has to be the free mulch. As soon as spring hits, these aspen shavings are going around my baby apple trees haha

  3. I wanted a better way to hang my brushes to dry, so I used scrap wood (including discarded cuts from a butcher block) to create this.

The brushes hang from thread connected with electrical tape haha.

  5. #Straw #Weaving โ€“ #Pentagram Star

"Iโ€™m still very into my straw weaving projects! ๐Ÿ™‚ This time I did a pentagram star with wheat and rye. I used the same technique in my Lavender Star Tutorial.

    Materials:
I used 10 pieces of wheat stalks (available here*) and 5 pieces of rye for my star. For the straw ring youโ€™ll need several straight pieces of straw and some thick floral wire. Additionally I decorated everything with some ribbons."

Off Monastiraki Square, Athens, along a narrow street filled with small shops, I found a man leaning on the door of his shoe shop.

  9. Did you know? Cow horn was used for lanterns before glass!

Andrew from the Fleet team show us how this traditional technique is being used to repair the stern lantern on our replica 1606 Dutch tall ship Duyfken.

  10. A bit confused by all this but here goes! I post about #archaeology #experimentalarchaeology #heritageeducation #traditionalcrafts #hedgebothering and ok, #tea and #cats occasionally.

Currently finishing an experimental archaeology MSc at #exeteruni.

Err, that'll do for now, I'm sure I'll get the hang of it sometime soon.
