I had to watch each episode at least twice to figure out who was who and what was what. But, it's the prettiest #kdrama I've watched, so far! Really intriguing plot.

She's SO lovely!! And so is the whole show. There were many moments that took my breath away.
She does an excellent job in Pachinko, which isn't exactly a k-drama, although it tells a Korean story.

@commonst I didn't like it much, though it's the first K-drama with Lee Minho that I didn't hate.
Nevertheless it's worth watching just for Woo Do-hwan's performance.
He offered me one of the most memorable comedy moments in my history of #kdramaThe end is disappointing, the chemistry is missing, the characters' choices not so plausible given the context.

He SO looks like a dude that was born to be King, in this show! And I've checked several times to see whether he has a background as an equestrian. He has not, but I've seen no other #kdrama idol who sits a horse like he does!
Pay attention to the urban background in each new scene because I spent an inordinate amount of time trying to decide which dimension was which. Woo Do Hwan is spectacular in his dual roles!

Yes, I also watched the first couple of shows and immediately recognized the prime minister from #TheKingEternalMonarch, also the sister-in-law in Pachinko when she was dressed as a man and playing one too. She's a pretty amazing actress. But pretty much nobody can hold a candle to #KimTaeRi!!

The drama not so much though. I felt zero chemistry between the leads and the ending was not to my liking. -

I liked #TheKingEternalMonarch very much for its story. The idea of two parallel worlds, two persons with the same face, etc., made the plot intriguing, mysterious, and sometimes even funny.
I agree that Kim Go-Eun may seem not particularly endowed with expressivity and romanticism. But I like her 😍 because she is beautiful and has an elegant posture (she was a model). -

This show was visually stunning and super interesting to me and #LeeMinHo was so believable as a young royal to me that I kept checking to ensure that he didn't grow up as an equestrian.
As you said, #WooDoHwan stole the show and his Busan dialect was phenomenal!
I've already watched each episode at least twice but I'd enjoy a rewatch sometime soon!

This is maybe the first time I don't hate #LeeMinHo's character. Once I could figure out all the doppelgangers, the plot became quite captivating too. And what a performance by #WooDoHwan! Can we talk about that Busan accent and how he totally nailed the double personality?
A big negative point is the lack of chemistry between the leads. The romance didn't come out well and for me it's a recurring issue with #KimGoEun

@MisuseCase I LOVE #TheKingEternalMonarch! The show has lots of comedic moments but the parallel universe concept is very fresh. It took me several episodes and rewatches to sort out where each scene was taking place!

He's also an adept equestrian, which indicates that he probably grew up wealthy. I've only seen him in #TheLegendOfTheBlueSea and #TheKingEternalMonarch and enjoyed both.

The King: Eternal MonarchI wanted to love this one a lot. Lee Min Ho as a King with a horse in a science fiction/fantasy world - what could be better?
I liked it and may watch parts of it again. It’s hard to discuss without spoilers. The story had a lot of potential, but fell short for me. I did love Woo Do Hwan - he was excellent at playing 2 really different characters and he makes it worth watching.
Like Heavenly Idol, I think trying to develop & explain another world in just 16 episodes means you leave out a lot of important character development.
I’d say give it a watch, but don’t expect it to the be the epic it looks to be.

One of mymost important projects this season is to grow food for myself. I am now planting spinach, sweet potato leaves & kangkong in my parents’ house and the community garden.
