The previous two #kDrama shows that I watched were disappointing: I stopped watching ‘Strong woman Do Bong Soon’ and really hated ‘Eve’. So I was a bit worried when I picked a new one …

But I made a great choice with ‘Doom at your service’.

I usually don’t like romance-only stories, so I was really curious to see how this would play out. And somehow it just worked for me.

It had enough humor without being too much, the romance was handled well within the rest of the story, and I thought the actors were great. Very emotional toward the end (😭) but just so so good.

Also: no annoying product placement. Like, at all!

The ending felt a bit weird (not bad or negative, just odd as a final scene), but it was still good.

Definitely worth watching!

I rang in the New Year rewatching #DoomAtYourService and it was nearly as great the second time around.
Also rewatched #UncontrollablyFond which has an annoyingly long revenge arc but that's worth it because #KimWooBin and #BaeSuzy are perfection.
I especially loved rewatching #TheHeirs now that I've had much more opportunity to watch the queens and kings in that series evolve into starts.

You've gotta give #kdrama a try for hilarious dialogue and fabulous physical comedy that is in no way slapstick! The complete absence of a laughtrack makes it a lot more subtle. #DoomAtYourService was one series that truly made me LOL.

@jcurries @Missrdevine @Hanktank well in #summerstrike drama I found it a bit annoying that a supposedly Dutch university professor had a US accent when speaking English. Why don't they make him an American professor then?
As for #DoomAtYourService I was more concerned about the ML not speaking English even if he told that he went to work in the USA. The Canadian guy and the aunt should have spotted the lie in a heartbeat.

Beautiful. Scenery, sets, actors, clothing, music, writing. This was part of my Park Bo Young quest. I thought she was fabulous. She & Seo In Guk have wonderful chemistry.

The storylines delve into creation & destruction, rebirth & death, growth through love & suffering, how we need to lay down our burdens & love ourselves, how choosing the more difficult journey may be the best way forward. I found it very philosophical. I can't complain about character development. Each grew to become a better version of themselves (except maybe Kevin).

If you've suffered grief, you might find a lot of comfort in this drama.

Beautiful. Scenery, sets, actors, clothing, music, writing. This was part of my Park Bo Young quest. I thought she was fabulous. She & Seo In Guk have wonderful chemistry.

#DoomAtYourService is a great choice. There's some overlap with the themes in Goblin but it's very unique in many ways.
I prefer to watch only one series at a time, along with the #watchparty but I'm getting stuck in multiples at the same time! I have one more episode of #Goblin to rewatch and then move on to the one I'll miss on Sunday.
I have to rewatch and wait for the next #MyLovelyLiar shows.
I've watched one episode of #DP and will probably take that slowly because it's heavy.

Just finished watching #DoomAtYourService last night and there was so much about it that was lovely to me. Hilarious dialogue, strong female lead, great soundtrack (listening this morning), and the fascinating scenery of #JejuIsland for several episodes.

One thing I love about #kdrama is the strong #FemaleGaze in many of the shows.

#kdrama Doom At Your Service

It's been very hard to finish this #drama. I found it too slow and boring. Made by 75% of talks, occasionally deep but more and more trivial as the show goes by, super long stares that makes me yawn every time and a plot line without much twists.

I enjoyed slightly more the second romance, though even in that case things a little more exciting could have been added.
