Oh, I LOVE Uncontrollably Fond, and was impatiently waiting for Genie Make A Wish to see #KimWooBin and #BaeSuzy together again. I definitely got frustrated by the revenge story, but I was totally drawn in by the characters and the actors who played them. I rewatched it, as well as #TheHeirs, to see young Kim Woo Bin in action. I'm also working my way through all of the shows with Bae Suzy, as well.

Day 10: Did you rewatch a drama in 2024?
I rang in the New Year rewatching #DoomAtYourService and it was nearly as great the second time around.
Also rewatched #UncontrollablyFond which has an annoyingly long revenge arc but that's worth it because #KimWooBin and #BaeSuzy are perfection.
I especially loved rewatching #TheHeirs now that I've had much more opportunity to watch the queens and kings in that series evolve into starts. -

I really dislike a whole bunch of fighting in what I watch, unless it's #KimWooBin who's doing it! I haven't yet seen the movie. I'm thrilled that he's currently working on another drama with #BaeSuzy

I recall that this show started out better than it ended and at this point, a couple of months after watching, it is entirely unmemorable to me. My advice would be to move on to something else since there are so many excellent shows out there!

Yikes, that's a lot! I'm glad to be finished several of the currently airing shows for now. Of course, I didn't mention our high-speed joint rewatch of #TheHeirs, which you recently reviewed. I enjoyed the show a lot more the second time around. I have such appreciation for the talented actors in the show. I'm tempted to rewatch #TheKingEternalMonarch before long, another all-time favourite. In the meantime, I'm 2 episodes into #Vagabond with #BaeSuzy. Lots of action.

(2024 - Viki, 1:40 film)A love-it or hate-it film. An AI service called Wonderland connects users with people in comas or who have passed. The ethics & actual abilities of AI need to be set aside to contemplate the questions about reality, its benefits & drawbacks that this use brings up.
It is confusing because at 1st nothing is explained, but that contributes to the story by making us anxious, just like the characters. It covers 3+ stories, so a lot happens, but each adds to the theme. The info is slowly revealed. The endings may not be what we expect, but again that contributes to the film's message.
The best thing about sci-fi is that it makes us question the present & the future. This film does that beautifully, with different relationships & nice visual effects. The cast of actors is phenomenal - no disappointments there.

(2016 - Viki, 20 1:00 eps)A 1st rate, cliche, weepy melodrama, with the usual flat yet extraordinary characters facing an insurmountable problem. Most characters are fabulously annoying & do things that no one would ever do, but it's melo perfect.
Ill-fated 1st loves meet after many years. ML has become a rich actor whose mom can't forgive him for not becoming a prosecutor. FL is a poor video journalist forced by circumstances to compromise her values to survive. We suffer as they try to find their way through the horribleness that life has thrown at them.
The phenomenal acting *makes* this drama - especially Kim Woo Bin, whose character could have been overdone. There are a few unforeseen revenge twists, & a couple of sweet side relationships that keep it interesting. Both leads were nominated for Best Actor & Couple awards.

What's keeping Suzy out of the limelight? No doubt she's working on a new project, K-drama perhaps? Or, a new single or album?
If any of her past “disappearances” are any indication, it's more likely a new drama or movie. She doesn't “disappear” this long. It's Suzy. LOL. “The world's girlfriend.”

A martial arts-trained stuntman's orphaned nephew is killed & now he is at the center of a deadly conspiracy along with a gov. intelligence agent. Every episode is an emotional roller coaster ride as the characters develop amidst deadly threats from every direction. The acting is phenomenal. The special effects are Hollywood-level. The chemistry is palpable.
Not your usual let's-blow-something-up so we don't have to worry about having a good story action series. A great story carries the drama, car chases, shootouts, & stuff getting blown up are just extra goodies. We also get to examine what's moral, what's right, & does the end justify the means.
Unfortunately, Season 2 is required to finish this story. Maybe that was the original plan & the pandemic got in the way? Hoping S2 comes soon.

@KDramaQn I'm a big fan of #BaeSuzy ! As for #LeeSungGi it was the first #kdrama I watched starring him. I think he did good though there was no real kissing scene (just a drunken mistake) and that's usually what can flip the table in my assessment.

That sounds good although I'm trying to take a brief break from romance! I really liked #Doona! and thought that also gave a good idea of how tightly manage #kpop artists are. Interesting that #BaeSuzy broke away from that IRL although I don't know if actors have much more freedom than singers! -

(2023 - Netflix, 9 0:50 eps)So pleasantly surprised. While a few tears were shed, the drama was surprisingly uplifting. The main character goes through a lot of introspection which is difficult to show visually, but it succeeds. The scenes feel intimate & the writing is sweet yet sharp - at times her retorts betray her feelings & surprise the characters & audience alike.
The ML expresses his feelings very well - he is involved in a love triangle, but handles it beautifully. The side characters are so interesting - I wish the drama had been longer & we had gotten even more of their stories.
Fortunately, someone had warned me ahead of time to not skip the intros. The opening scenes contain clues to what eventually happens & are a stroke of genius & perfection. The only thing I disliked about this drama was the smoking. Wouldn't smoking damage her voice?

(2017 - Viki, 32 0:30 eps)The FL can see the future & meets a few other people with this gift. We see them try to make changes while realizing why their lives are intertwined. The ML is a prosecutor with extremely interesting cases - bringing up some great moral dilemmas.
There are a lot of flash backs & flash forwards which is confusing if you aren't paying attention. I loved the investigator(Kim Won Hae), villain, & 2nd ML - all excellent. The main couple was cute but not heart-skipping.
Our favorite ahjeossi, Kim Won Hae, won an award for this part. ML & FL won top excellence awards & best couple.
LJS seems typecast as a cool, morally upright guy. He did it well in Pinocchio, but here, he tries to be a little silly. While it went well with Bae Suzy's character, it didn't fit him or the story well.
