Oh, I LOVE Uncontrollably Fond, and was impatiently waiting for Genie Make A Wish to see #KimWooBin and #BaeSuzy together again. I definitely got frustrated by the revenge story, but I was totally drawn in by the characters and the actors who played them. I rewatched it, as well as #TheHeirs, to see young Kim Woo Bin in action. I'm also working my way through all of the shows with Bae Suzy, as well.

@dnkboston @AnnaAnthro One thing I genuinely LOVED about #TheHeirs was the second couple. Sadly underdeveloped but to this day my favourite Krystal romantic role. They were seroiusly cute together.

It made me wish I'd gone with something also showcased East Asian Dramas differently. If anyone sees your post and loves it as their very first #KDrama , pretty safe to say they may be , er, um, underwhelmed by #TheHeirs , Kim Woo Bin notwitshtanding

Day 10: Did you rewatch a drama in 2024?
I rang in the New Year rewatching #DoomAtYourService and it was nearly as great the second time around.
Also rewatched #UncontrollablyFond which has an annoyingly long revenge arc but that's worth it because #KimWooBin and #BaeSuzy are perfection.
I especially loved rewatching #TheHeirs now that I've had much more opportunity to watch the queens and kings in that series evolve into starts. -

Yikes, that's a lot! I'm glad to be finished several of the currently airing shows for now. Of course, I didn't mention our high-speed joint rewatch of #TheHeirs, which you recently reviewed. I enjoyed the show a lot more the second time around. I have such appreciation for the talented actors in the show. I'm tempted to rewatch #TheKingEternalMonarch before long, another all-time favourite. In the meantime, I'm 2 episodes into #Vagabond with #BaeSuzy. Lots of action.

The Heirs (aka The Inheritors)
(2013 - 20 1:00 eps) REWATCHA classic I 1st watched in early 2023. Knowledge of language & culture made it even better. The episodes flew by as the spoiled illegitimate 2nd son fell for the poor girl & had to fight to love her.
Phenomenal casting of 3 proven leads early in their careers & the supporting actors (see hashtags) who have all had stellar careers. A screenwriter with several other highly-rated dramas (The Glory, The King: EM, Goblin...) The 3 leads & the show won many awards.
It has a lot of wrist grabbing which was common at the time. But the depth that these young actors portrayed is astounding. Lots of character development & we come to understand their pain & the reasons for their actions. Excellent!

@EllenInEdmonton @s1m0n4 No trick there - Krystal Jung was in both #TheHeirs and #Player Season 1, but only had a brief setup cameo in episode 1 of Sseason 2. I really enjoyed her support role in #TheHeirs, she was part of a cute second couple that I enjoyed far more than the main pair. She also surprised me in Player 1 with how well she did in a main role, given my low opinion of her acting talent. 🙂

There's no actor named Krystal in the cast list. I'm tempted to rewatch #TheHeirs because so many of those actors went on to bigger and better things. Still, high school shows are certainly not my favourite genre. -
To say that Krystal is not the greatest actor in #KDrama is like saying that Mercury is not the largest planet in the solar system. BUT watching the beginning of #PlayerS2 confirms my belief that she shone in S1, her best role since #TheHeirs and I am still unsure about this second season without her 😢

The best revenge #kdrama ever. There are no boring episodes and it offers unexpected twists until the end! The screenwriter is #KimEunSook who also wrote #DescendantsOfTheSun #Goblin #TheHeirs ...
I gave it a 9.5/10 because the chemistry between the two leads felt a bit lacking. #SongHyeKyo gives me cold vibes when it comes to romance. She's brilliant in everything else.
Disclaimer: the first episode is the most violent and hard to watch imho.

I watched E1 and sadly, it seems to have been filmed before LMH became as pretty as he is in more current series. Still, I just love to watch his face, even when the character he's playing is a total jerk! Just finished #TheKingEternalMonarch last night and watched #TheHeirs not too long ago. -
@EllenInEdmonton @Missrdevine #LeeMinHo always plays the same character. He's the obsessive control-freak and jealous boyfriend, chaebol-rich, bossing everyone around him.
He was like that in #TheHeirs #TheLegendOfTheBlueSea and the few episodes I saw of #BoysOverFlowers
A good actor can play different roles convincingly
