This is how the setup looks.

  16. Heute Neu reingekommen:
    - Enter Shikari - Lose Your Self
    - Rigo Starr - Long Long Road
    - Buena Vista Social Club - Lost and Found
    und
    - Psyche - II :
#Vinyl #Musik #Lpcafewien #Plattenladen #recordstores

  22. Cataloging Black-owned record stores

As part of celebrating Black History Month, here’s a list of known Black-owned record stores in the United States and other places around the globe. The list includes those stores that are either fully or partially Black-owned.

Sadly, as with all variations of brick and mortar record retailers, the advent of streaming, digital downloading, and online retailers like Amazon.com has vastly decreased the number of Black-owned record stores. It was also noteworthy that several stores only recently identified in previously published stories/articles (in the past five years) were discovered to have now closed permanently.

Kudos to these business owners for weathering the economic, social, and technological challenges of owning and operating an independent record store in the 21st Century. Please feel free to forward any additions, corrections, or suggestions to this list.

    Peace!

  27. Yesterday was fun. I visited the charming Music Unbound record store in Enschede where my brother’s friend Sjors Trimbach held a talk about band logos including a Futura/Univers readability test for the Oasis logo plus a logo zine. And also, found a Dendemann album with lettering and artwork by @eWalthert in the rarities bin!

  36. It’s your friendly neighborhood Vinyl Ape, checking in from the road.

Had a fruitful day at Chiliwax Records in Chilliwack, B.C. today.

Coming away with ten great records, some stickers, and other ephemera from my visit.
Was able to get a few very sought after records that have been on my list for a while, and the atmosphere and staff there was very friendly.
I hope to get at least a few more hours in there before I have to depart tomorrow after this stupid wedding.

And there’s still a few more stores to hit on the way back!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend, everybody!

  41. Day 2 into my destination wedding trip.

Two record stores already visited along my path!
    About 15 or so cool 7” singles with picture sleeves, and a handful of some nice #80s #punk #postpunk & #newwave !
Four more days (and what would appear to be at least 5 more stores) left on the trail!

P.S. The bottles of Stoli were safely “disposed of” (glug glug) to make room in the box for records. 😂
