  1. Managed to misplace an entire outer record sleeve. Very large. In the same, tiny room I am in. 🤔 #lps

  2. The 20 Solid Gold Hits LP most certainly is interesting to listen to. I recall someone here telling me that K-TEL (and similar, like this one) records are cut cheaply... and you can actually hear track crosstalk on this (ie they crammed a LOT more music on a side, but by doing so the tracks are closer together.. so you can sometimes hear interference from the adjacent tracks). #records #LPs

  3. Ha! Only descrambled one record, but feel better about it, and found the empty jacket of one of the wrong records. So two records back in their place, if the universe is accounting. Also bought my MIL a sewing machine of the exact same model as the spouse's for basically nothing while I was there, which probably will be of benefit. #records #lps

  4. Random music observations of the morning: Herb Alpert presents Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 is the best Sergio Mendes LP I have run across! (probably because it was produced by Alpert). Also, the most Portuguese language tracks. The decision on later albums to use English instead of Portuguese maybe catering to the bland American tastes of the era, but the Portuguese versions are far superior. #music #lps

  5. A couple of today's mystery bargain LPs:

    "Grape Jam" and "Paul and"

    🤔

  6. Today's experiment, which I sure hope works, is if a cooler with some ice packs will keep a pile 'o LPs from warping while in a parked car in 95F air temperatures. (Bargain priced LPs.... ended up at 50 cents apiece. Probably should have bought a few others if I knew the pricing ahead of time... ) #lps #records

  7. Grover Washington, Jr. Come Morning, like it! (jazz). #lps

  8. Realizing it is impossible (?) to purchase and leave vinyl records in a vehicle in summer without risking warping them. (maybe, pack a cooler? lol) #lps

  9. $1 garage sale LP. Don't know what I was expecting on this (religous chanting? rock?), but NOT what I expected lol. #music #lps

  10. So random question... how do people fix cardboard LP covers that are ripped open? (Thinking just clear tape around the edges. Or masking tape). Not concerned about collectibility or whatnot, just want to keep them record from flying out. #music #lps

  11. Good side of visiting my parents in Ottawa is being directed to a plastic tub of old LPs that ends up containing Los Crudos, Limp Wrist, Napalm Death, Rites of Spring, At The Gates and all kinds of stuff I listened to 25 years ago. And some kolomeyka LPs I'll keep, and Magyar Noták ones I'll donate.

I actually thought this stuff was somewhere in my storage at home that I couldn't find, not that I was wildly searching for it all these years. But lotta goodies to bring home!

  12. Hmm, country music or some kind of kinky thing going on with this cover, lol. #music #lps

  13. Will spend more time listening on some of these, but the trip to the library was well worth it... LP from Bonnie Pointer, Natalie Cole, Helen Humes (Jazz), the Bach organ. All great! (not familiar with any of them before). The remaining stuff, perhaps a style diversion... Juice Newton & Silver Spur (country?!?), Helen Reddy (?), a Joan Baez LP (know who she is, but not any of the songs). Anyway... all late 1970's stuff, which apparently I have had near zero exposure to except whatever popular tracks crossed into 2026 on oldies stations. #music #lps

  14. The local record store lets you snag a free record or CD from a "free" (with purchase); I bought a turntable belt and a couple for records... this was in the free pile, figured I liked last half an album I heard from them (the other half unplayable for that other album). #music #lps #Chicago

  15. Had to go back to work so no time to browse, but this $3 LP was a "can't pass up" (thrift store pricing there!) #music #lps
