  1. I was #rebooting my computer and found an error that popped up, part of which said:
    Fedora PCIe Bus Error: severity=Correctable

    Anytime you get a bus error could be a sign that your hardware may be damaged. But it also said
    severity=Correctable
    which indicates that it’s not irreversible. A bit of digging online I found that it can indicate that the kernel is reporting errors and Advanced Error Reporting and is not of real concern but it can clutter up log files.

It was not without hassle this time and it started with what seemed to be a system that did not even give me a prompt after #rebooting, although the update process had seemed to go smoothly and quickly. Luckily, the virtual screens were working and so I could #login to a #shell. Although #sddm didn’t seem to be working, #kdm was and so I was able to open a desktop session, but only in #Gnome

  4. Talking about grassroots media as a step away from the current #techshit

The rise of the #dotcon platforms has commodified our lives: closed silos like #Facebook and #Instagram harvest our attention and data, locking us into systems that serve profit, not people. Attempts to build alternatives around an #encryptionist agenda have gone nowhere. As a result, the tech giants […]
