My daughter pointed this horrifying fact out to me: beak length is typically measured from anterior end of the nostril to the tip of the beak. Which means the kiwi has the *shortest* beak since it has nostrils near the very tip of the beak.

I work in #EvolutionaryBiology , particularly phenotypic #evolution using #morphometrics and correlates with #Genomics and #Transcriptomics .
