Mildly amusing #mistranslation. It's misreading 사제총 because 사제 can apparently mean priest (司祭, manager + worship) but also "hand made" (私製, personal + make) as in this case of a homemade gun.

#Documentary #Film with #Tacoma ties asks: What if the #Bible was never meant to #demonize #gay #people?
“1946: The #Mistranslation That Shifted #Culture” takes a look at how the word “#homosexual” was added to the #Bible by a #team of #translators and the #harm it’s done since then.

Bad translations can be poetry.
I bought this sensational attempt at writing ‘Stanley Kubrick’s ‘A Clockwork Orange’ on a T-shirt in Asia in 2003.

Wir sind satt.

Let's play AI or mistranslation?🤓
"Suitable for multiple scenarios at home.
In this era of violent advance ,even waste has to leave an open for yourself.
The corner of body and mind.
Relax and leave yourself a little willfulness"
BONUS question. Post in a comment what is the item it's describing? - This is from a REAL item I'm buying.

From the article:
Respond Crisis Translation said that her original quote attacking her Israeli captors for the inhumane conditions prisoners were kept under - "they imprisoned us for a month. As winter came, they cut off the electricity. We almost died from the cold weather" - was translated into English subtitles as "and no one helped us. Only Hamas cared. Those who felt our suffering, I thank them very much".
She then said "they sprayed us with pepper spray and left us to die inside the prison", which the subtitles translated as "and we love them very much", which could make it appear as if her sentiments were directed at Hamas.
"She never mentioned Hamas or a word like it," the organisation tweeted.
[Edit: It seems that the BBC subsequently apologized for the misleading translation, calling it an "editing error", and released a longer version of the interview that did, evidently, mention Hamas. I can't actually find the new video or the apology, so who knows? I think #China and #Russia are both a bit obsessed with #FortDetrick (and understandably so) because that's where Shiro Ishii from #Unit731 in ended up? https://www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202107/23/WS60fa70c6a310efa1bd663fd0.html
Russia haven't used Fort Detrick in recent stories (as far as i know?) but it was prominent in their #HIV #disinformation campaign #OperationDenver aka #OperationInfektion (the latter is a misnomer, probably from #mistranslation or misinterpretation of #DDR sources)

Seems to be an initial #mistranslation from #Japanese to #English and seems to have been fixed to "sport utility verhicle" in a recent #Unicode update or so: https://twitter.com/FakeUnicode/status/1329624997036392452
