I give up! I tried everything I could think of to put the embedded (in an #iframe) #vhx / #VimeoOTT video player in #fullscreen #programatically (without a click or keypress) in a #userscript via #FireMonkey and either the script is blocked by #CORS or the fullscreen request fails or nothing happens.
I have tried adding the script to the website (www.dropout.tv), to the iframe (embed.vhx.tv with @allFrames), using the player API or vanilla JavaScript, directly in the userscript or by appending a <script> element.
The furthest I got was running the focus() method of the iframe so I can press "f" without having to click on the player first. -

TIL that Chrome browser will make any dialog [sic] invisible if you put the document into full screen mode… in the same event. e.g. click a button, go full screen / open a dialog, either one first, invisible dialog.
Happily it's OK if you go full screen, and then set a time out to open the dialog 🙃 🎉

At last, there seems to be a tool for embedding #MovieClips into #Beamer #presentations (i.e. #PDF files) for #GNU plus #Linux systems. It’s a previewer called #pdfpc which recognizes the movie and you can start it, pause it, etc with your mouse. If your machine is attached to a second screen, it automatically displays the presentation #Fullscreen on it.

Isn't it past time to abandon the current fad of full screen hero sections? I can't imagine a more absurd use for the 8M pixels of a modern computer monitor.

Holly shit, I just solved my Xmonad problem. I needed to add "ewmh" to run certain programs in fullsreen. Sometimes when I started something, they just didn't show, but you could clearly hear background music, sound effect, etc.
I didn't know how to add because I am not a haskell (or any) programmer:
I had this in my config:
"main = do
xmonad =<< xmobar defaults"
This is how I could make xmobar work. I tried to put ewmh anywhere on the right side did not work.
But this morning it me, I used brackets for adding tabbed layout, so I put ewmh like this:
"main = do
xmonad =<< xmobar (ewmh $ defaults)"
Restarted xmonad, no error message! Run OpenRA and it works! Now my xmonad setup instantly become 50% more usable as many Steam games also started like this.
Now I just need to learn how to play RTS games with trackball, hehe!
