Kahului PHOG → Hana PHHN

Since I was already in Hawaii and had flown over Mauna Kea in the Cessna 172 (see previous post), it made sense to also fly over Haleakalā on the neighbouring island of Maui. With the well-powered Super Cub, it didn't take long to reach 13,000 ft for enjoying the fantastic view.

With this small leg, I've finished my trip, which took me all the way from San Diego up the US West Coast (and a bit of Canada) to the western tip of the Aleutians. All in all, that was about 4,500 nm (8,300 km) with plenty of amazing impressions.

I've been flying a Vans RV-8A (by AOA Simulations) in X-Plane 12 and it flies real nice. It takes off and lands without much input. Trims nicely. Maybe that's just the sim, but it feels nicer than other GA prop planes in X-Plane. #XPlane12 #FlightSimulator
