I think I'm the only soul on Earth having this particular issue with #JAWSForWindows2026, and it's maddening.
Even if the window is maximized, if I have a multi-prompt chat with #ChatGPT in #GoogleChrome or #MicrosoftEdge, go to the bottom of the page, and then use Shift+H to move backward by heading to the most recent response, JAWS just will not read it properly.
It'll read the first few words of the most recent prompt or response and then suddenly jump several prompts back in the conversation. How do I even explain this one to the #Vispero folks? @[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])
Meanwhile, #NVDA handles the exact same task beautifully. #Yay @[[email protected]](mailto:[email protected])

Installing Google Chrome to Ubuntu proot environment with Termux
Google recently started rolling out the ARM64 version of Google Chrome for Linux machines. This gives a chance for users to install this browser straight from the official Google Chrome homepage, which coincides with the same installation method for regular 64-bit computers.
You can download the browser from here.
We have tested Google Chrome ARM64 on a Ubuntu proot distro with Termux on Android 16, and the browser worked with full Google account synchronization enabled. To install Google Chrome, let’s assume that you’ve set up Termux on your phone with Ubuntu proot distro and VNC server installed.
After that, follow these steps:
- Open the terminal, assuming that you’ve signed in as root.
- Execute the below command to download Google Chrome’s package. Let’s assume that
wgetwas installed in the Termux environment outside proot-distro.
# wget https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_arm64.deb --2026-08-03 16:21:55-- https://dl.google.com/linux/direct/google-chrome-stable_current_arm64.deb Resolving dl.google.com (dl.google.com)... 2a00:1450:400d:802::200e, 142.250.27.136, 142.250.27.190, ... Google Chrome is now finally available on ARM64 Linux!
Google announced that the rollout of Google Chrome, which is a popular web browser, started for ARM64 Linux machines on March of this year, with a promise that the rollout would be finished in the second quarter of this year. Users with those machines will be able to finally get the full Google Chrome experience without any limitations on Linux.
Starting this August, Google Chrome for ARM64 machines running Linux is now available to download!
Previously, if you wanted to have a Chrome-like experience instead of a powerful alternative, which is Mozilla Firefox, you’ll have to download Chromium from your distribution’s package manager. Chromium is an open-source version of Google Chrome without any features that are exclusive, such as Google account synchronization.
Now, if you want Google Chrome on your ARM64 machine running Linux, you can download it from this page. You’ll be given a Debian or an RPM package to install, which automatically sets up a Google Chrome repository for automatic updates, as well as installing Chrome.
To get started, go to the Google Chrome’s official homepage, then select the download option. You should see the last two options shown in the below picture:
The last two options are for ARM64 machines. Once selected for your Linux distribution, press Accept and Install. Afterwards, use your package manager to install Google Chrome from the package file.
If the installation is successful, you should be able to use the browser.

I don't hate Wayland but Google Chrome still has issues with the integrated Dell XPS webcam regarding permissions which I've already granted which Firefox doesn't. Main issue is that we use some electron-based apps such as Slack so video calls there don't work.
Still have to report this issue and send debugging info which I'm sure has already been submitted by someone else but these have been crazy weeks at work 😩
