One year ago, this was how we found Mama Lemon. I had seen her on trail cam recordings at times and wondered if she could be pregnant. Then she suddenly did this and I figured something was definitely up. So I started purposely feeding her to make sure she was okay. Two weeks later she showed up with Lucy and her sisters and we slowly became friends, so that was certainly the right decision

what have we got here? well kids, them is Nvidia P106 6GB ex-mining cards, a nerfed GTX 1060 variant without display connectors
got them in a multi-step swap, traded a C64C I found for a PS3 and that one for these, so cost me essentially nothing, save for some biking all over the place which #fatass is in desperate need of; in opportunity costs maybe call it $15 apiece.
those things can game if you got a Haswell or later iGPU; buncha caveats though
what I wanna do is run all four of these off a board I also found and power them all with a (guess what?) also found 750 W PSU.
if this ends up somehow working, that's 24 GB VRAM for like $60!

Stripped, pressure washed, greased and the broken steering linkage bent back into shape and reconnected.
Found the stamp, its only three years old, made in Turkey. The PP shells have some UV damage but it works fine again.
We'll see if he reach the pedals yet 😁

Underway, #Knirps spotted this tractor and demanded we rescue it, so I pulled it out and chucked it in the trunk.
Going to need some cleanup and repairs, I think.

1. Intel Core i5-4440 + Asus H81K-M + 8 GB DDR 1866 HyperX Fury + GTX650
got a whole PC outside of a fast-food. greasy and full of crap, didn't risk bringing it inside but tore it down in front of mah dwelling. saved the components and the PSU, tossed the rest.talk about overkill, that was some expensive RAM for a midrange machine. as mid as it might be, still faster than my rig (i7-870 H55) so I'm debating upgrading; Geekbench gives me good numbers, I'll get SATA3 and three gens worth of upgrades. wish it'd had a USB 3.0 front port connector and more RAM slots... check out my ungrateful ass!
reason for tossing it - one busted USB port and the PSU's fan was somewhat noisy

today's thing: champignons, avocado, olive oil, garlic, paprika, pepper, salt, sour cream and some rice noodles soaked in soya sauce. everything but the garlic is an "expired" dumpster find.

what have we here? that's a tar-covered "dead" #Macbook Pro 15 2011 I got for next to nothing. although ancient, the quad-core i7 still can be used for a plethora of activities; they take up to 16 GB DDR3 and can run two SATA drives, with disabled Radeon graphics they are fine #Linux machines.
the stank is... otherworldly, this dude is due for a thorough clean and repaste. before that though we need to make it run, which is hella hard without 85 W Magsafe 1 (ain't got it) and an original A1382 battery (guess what?)
what we do have is a battery from the previous 2009/10 vintage, the A1321. they are electrically compatible but the polarity is inverted, because Apple. so what youse beholding is my #hardwaregore solder job that patched the old battery to fit the new model. fanspin, screen lights up and there's the chime - goody gumdrops!
my old trick with temporary extracting the magsafe connector works, we can now utilise a Magsafe 2 charger until the thing is at least somewhat charged. later on, a 60 W charger will suffice.
the battery is in spectacular condition and it gave me zero problems. the almost 7000 mAh capacity took ages to charge using a non-adequate 60 W charger, need to check if everything is cool with my solderings just in case, maybe that makes it slower?
got a dead Hi-Res model of the same vintage. thought about transplanting just the matte screen, but since the gunky mobo is coming out anyway for cleaning, why not transplant the board into a *cleaner* case. so, that's what's happening!
also got a localized dead keyboard I'm gonna use to transplant some keycaps over, had about enough of the weird layouts from all over. unclipping em is hella finicky but usually works. and if it don't - plenty of replacement keys.
this has got to be the last 2011 with functioning Radeon graphics. it's so old it still has the ATI logo and as such is a nightmare to run in linux, with constant glitches and other issues in a modern wayland install. so, disabling it (kills video out) makes the laptop use the still adequate Intel HD 3000 graphics with way less power consumption and heat.
final addition should be 2x 8 GB DDR3 RAM modules and a 500 GB SSD SATA drive, but those aren't cheap, would cost me about $70 best case scenario and the whole thing's worth like $100 total, if that. so I'll keep a lookout for some swap opportunities for PC components I got #dumpsterdiving.
