#TIL that #Tanktics was also made by #DMADesign (now known as #RockstarNorth, famous for #GTA). Today I also remembered that game exist, and that I kind of liked it at the time.
On the one hand, there are plenty of “you are a cursor in a strategy game”, on the other, there are not enough of them. And they are also all different from each other.

Last Saturday was the #DMADesign yearly curry night. *Lots* of coding talk! Remarkably, no-one opted for dessert and it was over too soon.

On Fri we had the (yearly) curry night of ex- #DMADesign computer games people. First time I was able to turn up in ages. Thirty years since we made games, and some of us still do! This is where Lemmings, GTA and Hired Guns came from.

Apparently doesn't work on newer #Amiga's, but I do still have the source kicking around. I'll see if I can package it up and upload it somewhere.
I quite fancy loading in HG levels and making them "proper" 3D.... that could be fun.

My biggest claim to fame is that my name's in the first paragraph of the original #GTA design document. I was in the #DMADesign Design Department, where I worked on many games. For GTA, I came up with ideas, did dialogue polishing and rewriting, and had many a meeting with Brian Baglow (another writer) coming up with daft ideas for it.
