On 15.10.2002 the bankruptcy of #3dfx was formally closed, the company behind the #Voodoo cards I still miss. #Nvidia picked up the brand and the patents of its biggest rival for 112 million dollars. Eleven years later to the day, #AMD launched the R9 290X, a card that beat Nvidia's Titan in the PCGH benchmarks.
Reading both on one page says a lot. Back then the market had several real players, and I miss that more than the hardware itself. Nvidia is hostile to its customers and uses every trick to squeeze out more money, and that is exactly why AMD is the only brand I buy today.
