Kali, Mahakali, Bhadrakali, Kalika; a Hindu Mother Goddess of war, anger, time, change, creation, destruction, and power.

She emerged from the goddess, Durga, who is a goddess of protection, strength, motherhood, destruction, and wars.

Despite her fierce and relatively fearsome appearance, she is considered the divine mother, the dark mother, and the terrible mother -- she is a compassionate goddess that wears a garland of severed heads and a skirt of arms or nothing at all.

Her hair appears wild, disheveled, and her eyes are red with the burning fires of rage. She is often depicted with blue black skin and a red tongue that sticks out of her mouth under fangs, which continues to paint a picture of a wild woman, or, as some would say, a demon.

Much like all dark goddesses, she may appear as a demon and not a loving goddess, but she is misunderstood. She is, in my perspective, a goddess of duality, where she transcends the rigged boxes human dub as good and evil.

Her true nature is misunderstood due to her appearance.

She is more than willing to do the dark deeds required to destroy evil and grant freedom. She destroys our physical ego, thus destroying the attachment to our temporary vessels, our physical bodies and attempts to show us that we should enjoy life because death is inevitable.

Kali Ma is the consort to Shiva, who is the Destroyer AND the Transformer -- both a reminder that life is temporary. Kali's rage is only quelled by Shiva when she becomes lost in anger and violence. Together, they destroy illusion, the ego, and the illusion of duality.

People call upon her in battle and she is often depicted with a sword that represents knowledge and destroys ignorance, and a severed head that represents liberation from our ego or the attachment from our physical bodies.

She came from the Goddess, Druga, who called upon her to defeat a demon named Raktabija who produces clones with every drop of his blood that hits the ground. She defeated him by drinking every single drop of his blood and ate each of his clones.

Kali is revered as a destroyer but is worshiped as a creator. Despite appearing in countless violent stories, she embodies a complex duality, thus she is multifaceted. Women turn to her for fertility while artists call to her for inspiration. This beautiful goddess is called upon during the most critical times when an action must be taken because she is an intense and highly capable goddess who is ready to take on all the suffering and torment of the world.

What I love about Kali is that despite transcending duality, she is exactly what I feel duality truly is because she is embraced as a violent warrior ready and able to destroy anything and anyone through any means necessary while also being a compassionate and loving goddess.

There is soooo much more to this amazing goddess that I could get into, just because of how much I can connect to her, but I advise those interested to do the research to her stories. The more I read about her, the more connected to her I felt.

How did you meet the first deity that approached you? If you approached your first deity, how did it go? I want to hear your stories!!!

Archangel Gabriel was always around, but I don’t remember when he started popping up. He came around with Archangel Michael, both telling me it was for my protection. During this time is when I had the most paranormal experiences.

Lilith, however, was different.

I wanted to work with Artemis. She’d come from time to time with messages like a few other deities did, but she never seemed to want to work with me so I ended up giving up on looking for a deity and focused on studying.

I started reading up on draconic witchcraft and soon after, read a bit about Lilith within some of those books. Small signs started popping up and I had a feeling it was her, but back then, I did not trust my intuition. After the subtle signs and my increasing confusion, I said outright; “listen,
I’m a fucking idiot and am blind. If you’re Lilith and you’re trying to tell me you’re here, you’re going to have to be bluntly obvious.

The following week, I got hit with her name several times and even…. Literally… got hit in the face with one. I didn’t mean that obvious, but it worked and when I finally figured it out, we talked and I have been working with her since as my Matron.

I’ve decided that since this is a book geared at beginners, I need to include a section on research and evaluating sources. Partway through the rough draft of the section on vetting sources, I went on a multi-page tangent about how fascist and WS groups hide in plain sight, recruit and indoctrinate new people, and just how pervasive of an issue it is in #LHP spaces. I think I might actually need to make a full chapter about this, and about how many sources may seem okay at first but have a major WS undertone due to affiliations that are less obvious than JoS and O9A.

This is definitely something that needs to be discussed in #demonolatry spaces. We deserve better.

Wheeeew I am already regretting opening this book. Like I get that you refer to daemons as gods, and it is meant that way, but our traditional daemons are quite different than the gods of other religions. We talked about this with the previous reference to Ma Kali as daemon.

And here we are, in 2022, with Έκατη (spelled Hecate in this book, which… must breathe) being referred to as a Demon Queen.

That I can grit my teeth through and carry on. I understand their stipulated definition, though I have major disagreements.

And then I hit this line:

“Allow yourself to feel the love and light of the goddess emanating from your heart chakra.”

…

This is a Demonolatry book?! What the actual fu is this.

This is a glaring reminder that once again, new authors are needed in #demonolatry.

How do you guys prepare for a ritual?

I, personally, prefer to do rituals at night in the moon’s presence. Even when no moon is visible, her energy remains. My preparation goes like this:

★ Prepare any ingredients, crystals, or other tools needed for the ritual.

★ Take an evening shower in only candlelight. During this, I visualize the entire day and any negative energies falling off my body with the water.

★ Make a cup of coffee or tea and/or smoke some weed/special rolled smokes with herbs to help with the ritual or help get you into the mindset needed.

★ Do something breathing exercises while sitting at my workspace.

★ Light any candles and/or incense.

★ Proceed with the ritual.

I’ll usually close everything off by thanking anyone and everyone who was present and helped me. If I was working with any demons, deities, angels, etc., I’d leave an offering as gratitude. Depending on the ritual, sometimes I’ll spend some time doing divination or meditating/sitting with the intent of the ritual for a bit.
