#FediCoven 2026 Q4: How do you identify? (Witch, druid, pagan, shaman, medium, 'all of the above'?)
These days, I generally only use a single word: pagan (because it's simple, easy). Feel free to call me anything you want, though. None of those words bother me. Also, random: I'm a medium, or a clairvoyant, psychic, etc. I even have a paranormal podcast.

#FediCoven 2026 Q3: Are you out of the broom closet?
I was raised in an Irish Catholic family. With that being said, my father practiced his own sort of Paganism, having been close to and dear friends with so many indigenous peoples, and my mother is Wiccan. So, of course, to some family members, I'm out. To others, I'm not. I actually live with my grandmother, my nana, and she thinks I just collect crystals. She also thinks I might be agnostic. It is what it is.

#FediCoven 2026 Q2: What role does self-care play in your practice? Any tips?
Self-care is a huge part of my practice. A major one, actually. We have to take care of ourselves before we can even think of taking care of those around us. No matter what your religion is, that should play a role.
As for tips? Do what's right for your body. Listen to what your body needs. Drink more water. Take your medication if you're reading this and you haven't yet. Every little thing matters.

#FediCoven 2026 Q1: For those who have a form of divination in their practice, does this indicate to you that the universe is predestined or deterministic?
Thank you, @HeliaXyana! :11111:
In some ways, I believe it is. In others, I do believe we forge our own path. You could ask any pagan and they would probably give you a different answer. While I think some things are set in stone, others might be changed.

I also completely forgot to share my most recent newsletter post on spiritual bypassing. As Burning Man season approaches and Black Rock inhabitants come pre-party and plan their groups out in our slice of the desert, and as tourist season approaches, I have a lot of thoughts about "spirituality" and the way that it's performed and projected.
This isn't my most eloquent work, but it's, I think, another somewhat essential installment in the slow buildup I've been trying to curate towards really establishing what it is I'm doing with any of this at all.

The Aug 11th issue of The Gods and Their Croziers is out: St.Athract, our third issue so far on Saints of the #Mórrígan
https://buttondown.com/godsandcroziers/archive/aug-11-attracta-or-athracht-the-water-warrior/
Athracht brings some points of clarity to spdculations in previous Mórrígan issues, and adds some new details of her own.
Calendrically she's situated alongside a host of similar runaway-bride saints, including a number of cephalophores (beheaded saints), as well as some really on-the-nose grain-goddess saints.
This raises questions about why the Autumn/Harvest goddess-saints still seem to be water-aspected, rather than Earth as I'd anticipated back in May. I get into it.

I'm convinced that the meaning of life is to suffer. We came here to suffer.
That sounds crazy at first, but suffering is what gives you more understanding, empathy, and compassion.
I explain more down below:

It's almost time for the Feast of Grapes! My muscadine vine is gearing up for harvest, and I'm getting ready for the Minoan celebration of Dionysus and his gift to humanity.

Cumaidh an talamh cuimhne — the earth keeps memory. Let it keep some of yours today. You are not required to hold all of it.
Beannachd na tìre ort — mairidh am freumh. The blessing of the land upon you — the root endures.

Athletic events at the #Panathenaia were held in three age categories: boys from 12-16 years of age, ephebes / youths of 16-20 years and men over 20. Today, on day 3 of the Panathenaia, the athletic competitions for the men would have been held. This year is a year of the "Lesser Panathenaia" or Panathenaia ta Mikra, so I am not certain how long the Games were during the Lesser Panathenaia. Since it's still a 7 day event, maybe the competitors were just from Athens?

A torch race was run by Athenians only, a contest of single runners carrying torches lit from the fire on the altar of Eros in the Academy outside the Dipylon Gate. They raced two miles uphill to the Acropolis. The first runner to arrive with his torch still alight was the winner and his torch was used to light the fire to burn the sacrifices.
Other athletic events included foot-race (stadion), pentathlon, wrestling, boxing and pankration. -

Olivia and I were driving back from Trumansburg to celebrate summer bounty last week and I saw this flower universe in front of Indian Creek Farm

Blessed Lughnasadh! Or Lammas if you prefer.
May your harvest be bountiful and the fruits of it sweet!
There's a fuller explanation of the mini altar I set up in the image alt text. Pan isn't strictly part of this, I know, but it felt right to include him so we rolled with the vibe.

Happy Lughnasadh, everyone! 🌟🍞🌻🌞

Happy #Lughnasadh everyone! While not something I harvested, today seems appropriate to share this picture I took with #mosstodon and #mushtodon.

Lamentablemente siempre la gente se basa primero en lo que ve en la televisión antes siquiera de investigar un poco...
