@zimzat Thanks for your feedback! I’ve been waiting for years for some kind soul willing and able to translate my #TYPO3 extensions via #Crowdin. At some point, the question becomes: is a carefully reviewed AI-assisted translation better than no translation at all? IMHO, with iterative semantic peer review between leading #LLMs and proper context awareness, the answer is increasingly yes. Native speakers can still improve the result, but they no longer have to start from zero.

@danielsiepmann Thanks for your feedback. How do you see this working in practice with #TYPO3 extensions? In this case, #Crowdin is the established community tool for submitting translations. A login is required, but the process is well documented and has become the generally accepted standard. Should more be done within the extension itself to improve access to translation proofreading?

TYPO3 14.2 will add native support for 🇱🇦 Lao language.

We migrated the translations for Pixelix from Crowdin to Weblate. The reason for this was that we had reached the limit of Crowdin's free plan.

One doesn't have to be a developer or programmer to #contribute to #opensource!

Here are a few easy ways that I've experienced (and enjoyed) myself:
- Help train #mozilla's #commonvoice #deepspeech recognition engine with your own voice and ears!
- Improve #openstreetmap data either via their website's editor or an app such as #streetcomplete.
- Translate #foss using the platform #crowdin (this morning I translated for #pixelfed!).

What other #easy and #accessable methods have you used?

I'm fully getting mad when interacting with one of the #PocketID developer, he use machine translator provided by #Crowdin and #DeepL to filled up all of the missing strings of the translation, the translated strings are really really bad, so I submitted an issues to asking them to stop this, but he "Closed with no planned".

🚀 Ethereum.org 번역 기여 완료!

최근 Crowdin을 통해 ethereum.org 한국어 번역 프로젝트에 참여했습니다. 현재까지 250여 개 단어를 기여했고, 승인 결과는 이벤트 종료 후 확인 예정입니다.

이번 프로젝트에서 핵심은 용어 통일, 쉬운 한국어, 입문자 친화적 톤 유지였습니다. 덕분에 한국어 기여자 6명 중 2위, 전체 약 12,000명 중 200위를 기록 중이며 좋은 성과를 거두는 중이라고 믿습니다.

이 경험을 통해 글로벌 오픈소스 프로젝트에 실질적으로 기여하며 번역과 기술 커뮤니케이션 능력을 동시에 향상시킬 수 있었습니다. 앞으로도 기술 기반 커뮤니티 참여를 지속하며 지식을 공유하고 싶습니다.
