En @mikrotik van a meter #Apps, no es más que una manera de desplegar contenedores #Docker sin tener que pelearte con archivos de configuración y comandos de terminal.

Está claro que un #Router debe ser solo eso... pero esto abre posibilidades para el #selfhosting a más gente. Y aunque quizás no sea para todo, podría encajar un #PiHole o #AdGuardDNS

Probé #AdGuardDNS en Android y le encontré un error importante: al reiniciar el dispositivo, la aplicación (que funciona como una VPN local), no reconecta automáticamente, por lo que deja al usuario desprotegido. :mspoopflame: Mal ahí, che.

Artículo sobre un tema muy clásico que habrá llamado la atención a cualquiera que haya cacharreado en los ajustes del teléfono: el DNS privado.

Yo llevo tiempo usando y recomendando AdGuard en su versión con filtro de rastreadores y bloqueo de publicidad. Muy poco se valora esta herramienta cuando la mayoría de la gente que conozco utiliza un navegador sin extensión que evite la inundación de publicidad.

services.dnsmasq.settings = {
no-resolv = true;
bogus-priv = true;
strict-order = true;
server = [“94.140.14.49” “94.140.14.59” ];
add-cpe-id = “My_ID”;
};

You just cannot include the port, or it will not resolve. To be more clear, ping resolved, but my web browser in Flatpak did not. Drop the port and the above works nicely (as I am posted from there now).

I am just trying to figure out how I would actually get NixOS to do this. Because I am pretty sure editing dnsmasq.conf may not actually work (unless I am wrong?).

I'm curious what DNS services people use? At the moment I use Secure DNS within my chromium based browsers (Brave & Vivaldi), and occasionally on the Mac itself and iOS devices.

I have used / do use various services:

- Cloudflare for the router (and cough spit Goole as a backup) - Very reliable but I'm less happy with their privacy policies.

- AdGuard Secure DNS (free with my AdGuard licenses) was my DNS of choice but I have found recently they suffer outages on rare occasions and sites then can't be found. Good dashboard where you can analyse where traffic, etc.

- NextDNS - under trial at the moment, appears good but from what I've read their support is lacking. Devices seem to be logged as 'iPad' (for example) and that covers both my iPads. Dashboard analysis and blocking though is really good.

For unlimited use / devices NextDNS does cost around £17 a year, but it may well be worth it.

Apart from being of possible interest technoally to you guys it does get around to me asking if any of you use any DNS services, and if so which, and if so why that choice?

Is it usual for the iCloud sync indicator to ‘stick’ in Finder on the #AppleMac?

Could it be a network issue? I recently started using #AdGuardDNS and I'm wondering if it is blocking anything? To see if that was the cause I've switched #DNS in the EtherNet and Wi-Fi network settings (on the Mac) to use #Cloudflare instead.
Or should I just point the DNS on the Mac to the network Router? What so do you guys set your DNS to on your Mac?
Any help or suggestions or even thoughts are appreciated.

#Facebook #AdGuardDNS #Block I've started using AdGuard DNS across all my devices and I'm actively blocking advertising and trackers. The No1 offender (no surprise) is Facebook. I think they're a bit upset with me blocking their advertising domain as they've restricted my account.
