  1. Sophie Dionnet of Dataiku says: "A lot of the changes orgs need today don't require the latest model. The problem isn't the tool — it's the change."

It’s easy to chase the new toy and overlook the real work. Are we focused on the hard shifts instead of the shiny ones? The AI "gold rush" leaves us wondering — where will it end?

  17. Why Most AI POCs Stall and How to Build an AI Operating Model That Works

Companies are generating more AI ideas, hackathons, and proof-of-concepts than ever before. Yet only a small fraction of those initiatives ever become secure, scalable, and widely adopted production solutions. The challenge isn't a lack of innovation or model capability. It's the absence of an AI operating model that connects governance, data readiness, measurement, accountability, and people enablement. In this article, I explore why most AI POCs stall and what organizations can do differently to consistently transform AI experiments into measurable business value.

I *had* never used it ... until I (sort of) *had to* use it.

I'd been a very happy Signal user. But then joining a community (I strongly support) that entirely communicates (almost exclusively) via WhatsApp (and some public facing stuff via Facebook) had meant the end of it.

Gladly on my GrapheneOS phone I was able to use a throw-away SIM (foreign, from a recent EU trip) to register a WhatsApp account in an entirely isolated user profile.

It is painful to have to use WhatsApp (for that one thing) now. But it is also painful – depending on one's community – to *not* use it.

The big question is this: How can one (peacefully) motivate such a community to 'get off' of WhatsApp/Facebook without alienation and offending them? Certainly educated arguments don't work. :-(

    Any strategies?

The real challenge isn't the tech — it's people, process, and culture. In a world chasing the next AI "toy," are we neglecting the real work? Where will this all end? No one knows.
