This Riserva (one of wines used to celebrate the most recent anniversary of my Italian citizenship!) is showing a little too old on the nose & a bit browning around the edges. The palate is a lot better, with a bright feel. There's a somewhat dusty finish, but it blossoms a bit with air, proving to be still quite drinkable. It has time left, but preferable to drink it up now. I liked it finally, but I'm also not really sad it's the last bottle. That's good timing!

The Allegrini ($45 not too long after release) in a very different style (doh!) smelled older, but came around nicely. It is not as fresh or as young as the Mocca, but it still is lovely, with surprising elegance for the category, but full-bodied and mouth-coating.
