Fantastic Southern Rhone inspired blend from California. It has a prime flavour of salinity, then stone fruit and flowers. Acidity is not prominent which is what I like in my whites. Easy to drink on its own, totally recommend. #wine #winelover #winetasting #winegeek

At first it put me off with acidity and more acidity. After five minutes it mutated, and it turns out it's more tangerine. After another 5 minutes, a softer shy background appears, stone fruit. And finally, after a few more minutes, a sweet long honeysuckle finish completes the bouquet. Pale gold in colour, medium body.
For being an entry level wine, it does great things although it has to improve on early first impressions 😂 #wine #winetasting #winelover #winegeek -
Brilliant wine, price/quality ratio is unbelievable. For a 9£ it has everything you need. Doesn't have much complexity, I tasted red berries and black peppers, more of background actors. Overall it's a great wine, would buy again. #wine #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

Opened a #Barolo for my birthday and it was a bit underwhelming. #wine #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

#gnocchi alla sorrentina paired with #NizzaRiserva DOCG #Barbera #wine it was gorgeous. Woody, soft tannins, high acidity. Velvety and elegant. Absolutely gorgeous. #winelover #winetasting #winegeek #foodie

For our #xmasdinner #christmasdinner we had a #Barolo and a #PouillyFume #wine. Both fenomenal. PF had flavours of hazelnut, passion fruit, honeysuckle. Barolo was more smokey, game-y and mushrooms. #winelover #winetasting #winegeek

Exceptional. Strong, bold but easy to drink. Somewhat woody, plums, smoke. Not too deep in colour, medium finish. I bet it's great to elucubrate with friends. Absolutely recommend #wine #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

The only grape so far that I haven't liked any bottles I tasted it's #CheninBlanc but I refuse to believe I can't find a grape I won't enjoy. Still looking into it. #wine #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

#wine had a nice dinner with friends on Saturday. We started off with a #Soave classico, it was gorgeous. Soave is so underrated, people should really give it a go, one of the best whites from #italy. We then moved to a #Riesling and this was... Odd. The smell was putting us off a bit, reminded us of open fields and cattle. The taste saved it a bit, it was very honey rich. I'll try other Rieslings in the future, hopefully I'll find one more to my taste. #winelover #winetasting #winegeek

Not a big fan of #Lidl #wine, I got this #Garnacha Old vine with the certainty it wouldn't have been to my taste and I'm happy to confirm I was wrong. It doesn't have the tobacco/smoke note you'd detect in most of the reds I go for, but it doesn't lack flavour nor taste. I've had it with burger and it went well together. My liking of #cannonau gave me curiosity to try more #grenache wines #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

I'll be visiting a friend tomorrow and I've been selected to pick a #wine and bring it over. So I went to my "cellar" and checked what we had in stock. I have 16 bottles. And I'm ashamed to admit I thought "I got nothing in". #sorrynotsorry #winelover #winegeek

First time ever I use a #decanter and large bowl wine glasses. Having this #Barbera with an appetiser of salami, cheese and crackers and then #pasta with #amatriciana. I didn't have the best impression of Barbera on my first try so this time decided to go for a Superiore. You do taste the difference. It doesn't have the complexity of a Nebbiolo but it's a great #wine! Taste of #blueberries and #smoke I'd say. #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

This #Aglianico is great, especially considering its price and that it's from Aldi! A complex deep red, it filled the kitchen with liquorice, smoke, blueberries notes. This #wine does not need any comparisons with any other grapes, it should have the recognition it deserves! #winelover #winetasting #winegeek

I knew #Majestic were a great merchant, but I still need to pinch myself into believing the No quibble policy. If you don't like a #wine, they'll replace it. We love their #Definition range, their house branded wine, great stepping stone to start exploring a new blend or grape. Sadly the #Zinfandel we tried was way too acidic and we were disappointed. I walked in store, I had already the bottle in mind and I was so lucky they actually had an open bottle for me to have a free taste. It tasted amazing, all the flavours you'd expect from a #Primitivo basically. Can't wait to open it for a nice dinner. #winelover #winetasting #winegeek #MajesticWine

Nice video on #GermanWine, it's good to hear from producers from a country with such long history and yet possibly so neglected and stifled by bias. #wine #winegeek

One of the most complex #wine I've ever tried. Different flavours jump to the nose: blackberry, leather, smoke, orange. I never smelled so many contrasting flavours all in one glass. Not much body, couldn't detect much acidic nor tannin. 2011 vintage. Absolutely gorgeous! #winelover #winetasting #winegeek

I have been researching some non-french varieties #wine from the new world and they're extremely hard to find! I've seen #Australianwine has been doing some experimenting, none have become major varieties yet over there. Would love to try a #Vermentino or #Aglianico from down under! #winelover #winetasting #winegeek

A colleague of mine is from #India and she’ll be visiting family next month. She asked if I wanted anything from there and without hesitation I thought I wanted to try #wine. I read a couple of articles, watched a few videos and I’m intrigued how a country at that latitude can produce wine. I have asked for a bottle of #Sula wines and a bottle of #Fratelli wines. I am curious and open minded about this #winelover #winetasting #winegeek Just need to pick the wines now…

For my #wine "L&D" I use different media and sources, both in English and Italian. I find the English-speaking publishers/commentators fail to grasp the macrocosm that #italianwine world can be but nonetheless I appreciate the content. I love content I'm finding in Italian as well, I would have assumed they wouldn't have dealt with international wine and I was wrong. I do notice though a lack Italian women in the field and I think it's impoverishing the discourse. #winelover #winegeek

Our first taste of a #Dolcetto wine and boy, what a #wine! I let it rest for 30 minutes before tasting it and opened up beautifully. I detected black pepper, violet and blueberries. Medium body, can't detect much alcohol. You can tell it's a #PiedmontWine but it's very different from anything else I tried. Loved it! #italianwine #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

An exquisite #wine, one of the best SB we've ever tried! Grass, tropical fruits and orange blossom are all part of this wine nose. It's a must try. #winelover #winetasting #winegeek

Back to tasting #wine, I was missing that! Tonight we're trying a #Chardonnay from #NewZealand #Malborough. Quite acidic, to the nose I detect citrus and elderflower. Time and time again I realise that I personally prefer Malborough over Burgundy. It seems in the former, it's far easier to find a good bottle while in Burgundy it seems the vintage is far more relevant. Further studies needed definitely #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

The #GamberoRosso guide recommends the producer #TerrediLevanto which produces a #CollineDiLevanto DOC and I'm looking forward to taste this as some point. They produce both table wine and DOC. Will try DOC at the first occasion. I'm a big fan of #ColliDiLuni produced in the same province, as far as I understand quality is not as high as that one, but still, will give it a go #italianwine #winelover #winetasting #winegeek

#wine I love how varied the world of #italianwine is, each region is its own world. I really appreciate the individuality and history each area brings to the table and how unique its flavours are. I'm not sure if it's the case everywhere else in #Italy, but in here it seems almost impossible to find international wine. I understand Italy is the biggest producer of wine, but I also find people are missing out on the wine style from across the world #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

On the nose you get an explosion of flavours. Dark cherry, blueberry, tobacco and tar. Deep garnet in colour, you can't see the bottom of the glass. It's not as heavy as a Barolo but not as light as a PN. #wine #winetasting #winegeek #winelover Totally recommend this. #chileanwine Good job Chile!

When picking a #wine, what goes through your mind? Do you already know what you like? Are you an explorer? Any grapes you prefer? You look a the description? What about the label? #winelover #winetasting #winegeek I like to research first the area and grape I want to try and then I let my gut feeling picking the label that catches my attention.

Since I'll be spending Xmas separate from my boyfriend ☹️ we decided to open a second bottle this week. I'm mesmerised by the consistency of New Zealand #wine. Another exciting #PinotNoir! I find that #Burgundy reds require much more research into vintage and producer to find a good bottle. This Ned had tannins that marries beautifully with the high acidity. A strong bouquet of spice and tobacco. It's incredibly deep in colour and yet still light. #winetasting #winelover #winegeek

I loved this #Albarola #wine, a little known obscure grape from #Liguria. It's quite unique. Strong minerality, high acidity, a very mild hint of sweetness and a refreshing lemon finish. I think it's a hidden jem. It's an alternative name for #Bianchetta Genovese, depending on the area of production. #winelover #winetasting #winegeek
