In Avatar, Iroh teaches Zuko that firebending comes from the breath, so when my kid focuses on his breathing and visualizes how that relates to flames he might be producing, it’s really balancing.
When in doubt, listen to Uncle Iroh.

Como bien dice su título, la película de "Avatar Aang" va de... Aang. Aang y sus cosas, Aang y sus idiosincracias, Aang y sus traumitas. Con suerte aparece la tropa y con suerte tienen cinco líneas cada uno para recordarte de que esto era una obra coral.
Y con más suerte aún, Katara tiene un par más, pero puedo decir desde ya que la condenada película, si pasa el test de Bechdel, es de pura casualidad. Todo el diálogo de Katara es por y para Aang. Lo bueno que es Aang, lo valioso, lo honesto, lo heroico. Por desgracia a Aang no le ha llegado el mensaje, porque se pasa la película siendo un poco mierdas con sus amigos y con su novia en particular. Cada vez que se le quejaba de que no quedaban airbenders flotaba la pregunta incómoda de "¿Y si ella no quiere parirlos?". Porque la asunción continua es de que Katara va a ceder su útero por el bien mayor y me dicen por el pinganillo que igual en el 1900 eso ya se consideraba dar puta grima.
Pero no hablaré de feminismo, que eso ya no está de moda, hablaré del fanservice. Hay mucho y tan descarado que, si hago un juego de beber, no pondré la regla de "cuando los chicos se descamisen" a riesgo de acabar en urgencias . El estilo de vida de Aang pega cero con esa musculatura y, siendo honesta, le habría bajado a todos la masa corporal un par de decenas de puntos.
El argumento es sencillito, pero da el pego. Para una peli de Aang, necesitas la antítesis de Aang y Taigah cumple bien con el papel. Sonum tiene un diseño de morirse de bonito y todo el cementerio de tortugas tigre es una gozada de ver. Me repito, pero de verdad que esta peli en pantalla grande tiene que ser la hostia. ¡Dadmela en cine!
El gran problema de la pel es que, en general, no tiene tiempo a nada. Es un error añadir la tropa si no la vas a utilizar, te sabe a poco el verlos en cuatro escenas y obliga a darles minutos de metraje que necesitaría el argumento para respirar. Los Denegados podrían ser unos malos interesantes, pero va todo tan a trompicones, que lo único que te despiertan es confusión cuando saben airbendear tan bien nada más tener poderes.
Hablando de eso... ¿Son nuestros héroes unos inútiles redomados? Cuando eran chavales podía entender que necesitaras a cuatro de ellos para ganar una batalla, pero es que les dan pal pelo hasta los acabaditos de empezar. Que Taigah consiga MATAR a todo el grupo sin despeinarse me dejó flipando. A la que Toph dice por cuarta vez (4/5 de sus líneas) "I'm the best earthbender!" te la tienes que mirar un poquito de lado. -

Me creería bastante lo que se dice de que Nickelodeon la ha filtrado aposta, la condenada es famosísima por putear de mil formas a sus creadores. Ya en su día con la serie había todo de historias.
Lo poco que he visto de la animación, de verdad que no entiendo que se salten el paso por cines. Hay una calidad ahí que pagaría dineros fuertes por ver en pantalla grande.

- I really love old computers, esp ones to do with the history of #HPC, such as #SGI machines - sadly I do not own any of these computers as of writing this :(
