    México y Japón acordaron fortalecer su cooperación económica mediante un diálogo permanente orientado a impulsar nuevas inversiones, mejorar el ambiente de negocios y consolidar las cadenas de valor, durante una reunión encabezada por el secretario de Economía, Marcelo Ebrard Casaubon, con representantes de la Federación Empresarial del Japón (KEIDANREN) y de la Embajada del Japón en México.

    El encuentro reunió a funcionarios del Gobierno de México, directivos de algunas de las principales empresas japonesas con operaciones en el país y representantes diplomáticos, quienes analizaron los desafíos y oportunidades para fortalecer la relación económica bilateral, así como el entorno comercial de América del Norte en el contexto del Tratado entre México, Estados Unidos y Canadá (T-MEC).

    La reunión también permitió revisar las condiciones para mantener a México como un destino estratégico para la inversión japonesa y fortalecer la competitividad de la industria instalada en el país.

    Empresas japonesas refrendan interés por México

    Durante el encuentro participaron representantes de compañías como Honda Motor, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Toyota Motor de México, NSK, Panasonic Holdings, Mazda, Mitsubishi Electric Automotive, Nissan Mexicana y Mitsubishi de México.

    La delegación japonesa expresó su interés en continuar trabajando con las autoridades mexicanas para fortalecer la presencia de empresas de ese país y consolidar nuevos proyectos de inversión en territorio nacional.

    El presidente del Comité Económico Japón-México y asesor de KEIDANREN y Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Seiji Kuraishi, participó en las conversaciones junto con el embajador del Japón en México, Kozo Honsei.

    Economía da seguimiento a 39 proyectos de inversión

    La Secretaría de Economía informó que actualmente da seguimiento a 39 proyectos de inversión japonesa en México y señaló que, durante los últimos cinco meses, ha atendido 90 por ciento de los retos identificados por las empresas relacionadas con el ambiente de negocios.

    Marcelo Ebrard reiteró el compromiso del Gobierno de México de mantener una comunicación permanente con el sector empresarial japonés para facilitar las inversiones y fortalecer la competitividad de las cadenas productivas instaladas en el país.

    Acuerdan fortalecer cooperación comercial

    Como resultado de la reunión, ambas partes acordaron mantener la coordinación en temas considerados estratégicos para el desarrollo económico bilateral.

    Entre ellos destacan:

    • Facilitación de inversiones.
    • Fortalecimiento de cadenas de valor.
    • Cooperación en materia energética.
    • Procesos aduaneros.
    • Facilitación del comercio internacional.
    • Seguimiento al entorno comercial en América del Norte en el marco del T-MEC.

    Las autoridades señalaron que estos mecanismos buscan brindar mayor certidumbre a las empresas japonesas que operan en México y promover nuevas oportunidades de crecimiento económico para ambos países. –sn–
