  1. US President Johnson said 1st rule of politics was learn how to count. Seems that #WesStreeting can't count. 😅

    #Streeting plotted for 6 months. But by Weds evening only ~40 of 300 #LabourParty backbenchers would commit. See #TheTimes archive.is/IarpF

    He might make the 81 from ministers, but that many resignations would be a huge crisis. So he bottled it.

    But he'd already burnt his bridges with #Starmer. Now his cred is blown, & his savage resignation letter has shocked.

  2. It appears that anti-Semitism is fine by the same right-wing press that hounded Corbyn as long as the target is the 'wrong kind of Jew' and he's a Green.

  3. A blatantly antisemitic caricature of #ZackPolanski in #TheTimes cartoon about the aftermath of the #GoldersGreen attacks.

    But it's England. So the Jewish guy who opposes genocide and queries police violence is:

    1/ depicted as a blatantly antisemitic stereotype;
    2/ falsely portrayed as the perpetrator of a violent kick, rather than the critic of violence;
    3/ denounced as an antisemite.

  4. Headlines to be interpreted

    From ’The Times’ (no I haven’t bothered reading it) and it begs many questions. Including
    - why does the head of the Polis think he/she can make the moon disappear?
    - is it accomplished by closing the curtains or a wee bit more sophisticated?
    - is the threat to make the moon disapear a negotiating tactic?

    The mind boggles. Oh well better have another coffee before we go out for the morning run.

  11. For ducks sake. And this is a headline from what was one meant to be a paper of ’record’. Who is writing these headlines, AI or ‘vested’ interests? Or do ‘journalists’ exist any more?
