CW: Netflix's Avatar S2 - ai’s quickie review
Completed S2 of the live-action #Avatar on Netflix. I never watched the animated version, so the live-action has been my intro.
S2 started with a lot of setup in E1, but otherwise, each ep kept pretty good pacing and I especially enjoyed the intro of #Toph played by Miyako. Zuko and Iroh's arcs also held my attention. If you never watched the original, I think you'd enjoy the action and storyline. I hear the original fans are not as pleased. -

I think Toph was an important example of disability rep for her time, but the show is nearly 20 years old. It makes sense some elements of her character haven't aged all that well. Honestly, I think that just shows how far we've come though, so I wanted to talk about it!

I did Toph for green! Unfortunately, I'm not entirely happy with how this one turned out. I did not know what I was doing with this pose 😅
I didn't want to just copy an existing illustration, so I looked up some Chu Gar Southern Praying Mantis poses since I knew that's what her fighting style is based on. However, my reference photo was at a different angle.
Anyway, I'll just leave it as is because I don't wanna work on it anymore. I'll just cover her right hand with my next character 😅
