One commenter said the announcement was just bullshitting and it was probably going to be "another piece of metal."
"Look at me, I am very hard to impress and that is what makes me 1337!"
I for one prize my bits of metal from DEFCON along with my badges that blink and sparkle, and at this point I'd be happy just to be able to go at all.
I really hope Reddit is not representative of DEFCON attendee attitudes in 2026.

After a very successful mini-con at last year’s Arab International Cybersecurity Conference, we look forward to bringing the full DEF CON experience to Bahrain and the region.
