    I bought #Ascendancy well after its release. Well after the release of Master of Orion II, stuck in a love-hate relationship with that game, I picked it up from a bargin bin. And then never actually played it. Until 2025. Yup, this game was the beginning of my personal "pile of shame", entry #1. Only several hundred more to go!

    Played this shit for a bit last night. '90s-era MS-DOS 6.22 vidya vibeage.

    So much nostalgia for the first 4X I ever played. The menus and interface are absolute garbage - and the game is very simplistic - but I feel like the overall retro experience holds up.
